Summary – Infrastructure Associate The Infrastructure Associate will operate within the Investment team with broad responsibility for providing support to senior team members in managing all aspects of infrastructure investments from origination, financial close through to asset management. The Infrastructure Associate will be primarily involved in direct investments and co-investments. This will include undertaking due diligence, preparing and reviewing financial models, and writing investment papers. Broader responsibilities will include supporting asset management functions, such as periodic valuations, and working on the development of the strategy and business plan. This position will also be required to support the management of infrastructure fund managers. Accountabilities The Infrastructure Associate will be responsible and accountable for (but not limited to) the following key areas: Supporting the senior team in the origination, execution and asset management of direct investments and co-investments; Supporting and undertaking due diligence on investment opportunities of large-scale infrastructure assets including ports, airports, PPPs, tollroads, rail, utilities, energy and renewables; Reviewing and building financial models for valuation and pricing purposes. This would include hands-on modelling, sensitivity analysis and auditing of assumptions; Supporting the preparation and coordination of key transaction documentation, including collaborating with legal counsel and other stakeholders; Supporting the development and coordination of EOI and RFP responses and final bids, including collaborating with partners and advisors; Writing high quality investment papers and presenting these as required; Supporting the development and coordination of EOI and RFP responses and final bids, including collaborating with partners and advisors; Monitoring and managing the deal register; and Assisting with fund manager monitoring. Key Selection Criteria Tertiary qualification in a finance, commerce, economics or engineering discipline. Applicants working towards a post-graduate qualification such as the Chartered Accounting or Chartered Financial Analyst program will be well regarded. Solid finance experience (investment banking/fund manager/ advisory/project finance/corporate). Infrastructure experience will be highly regarded. Experience in financial and transactional modelling is essential. Demonstrated ability in successfully working in a team, including collaborating with partners and advisors. Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills. Strong quantitative skills and a clear attention to detail. Demonstrated flexible approach to problem solving with ability to influence. Self-driven, able to juggle many tasks under tight deadlines, comfortable bringing forward ideas. Commitment to the success of the team through cross-functional communication and cooperation across the teams. A high level of comfort working in a membership based organisation.
