Workshop invite - Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing Schools
Engagement
As part of the implementation of the Future in Mind recommendations through the national
CAMHS transformation programme, clinical commissioning groups, NHS providers and local
authorities across Hammersmith and Fulham, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster
have been working closely with partners over the last 18 months on a system wide redesign
of mental health and emotional wellbeing support for children and young people.
A key strand of the system wide change is developing the capacity across our local
partnerships to ensure that our early intervention services enable more young people to
receive the support they need at the right time and to avoid escalation to specialist services.
Through CAMHS transformation funding, there has been an opportunity over recent months
to trial a number of initiatives, many of these with local schools, which have tested new
approaches for delivering this type of support. The learning from these initiatives has been
critical in helping to shape longer term plans. The objective over the next year is to draw
together learning from these into a co-designed investment and delivery strategy across
health, education and social care which will create a sustainable system of support that
better meets the needs of young people.
Schools have a critical role to play in both the design and delivery of this future model and, in
recognition of this, you are invited to attend a workshop where learning to date will be
shared; we will explore how best to work together over the next year; and to seek partner
schools to be part of a final round of fully funded piloting for an innovative online counselling
service. This service is being rolled out across a number of areas nationally as part of local
CAMHS transformation plans and the Big Lottery HeadStart programme. To find out more
about the online counselling service please follow the links: kooth.com,
