Touch Canterbury Junior Touch @ Christchurch Park Westminster Park Junior Touch Team Information Booklet for Term 4 2013 Grades: School Years 0 – 2 social only so no scores will be recorded! School Years 3 – 4 girls, boys and mixed; School Years 5 – 6 girls, boys and mixed; School Years 7 – 8 girls, boys and mixed; School Years 9 – 10 girls, boys and mixed Please notes that all grades and subject to a minimum of 4 team entries. If we have insufficient team numbers in any grade we will talk to the teams entered to place them into another agreed, suitable grade. All grades are 6 a side and you can have as many reserves as you like. It is recommended that a maximum of 10 players be used to allow a decent amount of game times for all. The competition will be held on Wednesday evenings from 4.00pm and times may vary depending on the number of entrants. The following times will give an indication of probably times: Years 0 – 2 and 3 – 4 Years 5 – 6 Years 7 – 8 4:00 – 4.30pm 4.30 – 5.00pm 5.00 – 5:30pm Draws will be based on number of entries per grade. Grades may be split into 2 sections. Byes may occur if odd number of teams. Competition Dates: rd th The season will commence on Wednesday 23 October 2013 with the last game on the 18 of December (8 weeks in total). Individual Player Registration: Once again we will be taking individual registrations and making teams up for those people who don’t have a team. One of the things we learnt from last year is that we desperately need a coach/manager to help organise these teams. If you can help out please let us know and there will be a significant discount for your child. Please use the individual registration form and include any relevant details like who you would like to play with and if you wish to stay with the same team as last year etc. By signing up an individual you are agreeing to us appointing a coach/manager. Draws: th Copies of the draws will be emailed to the coaches/managers by Wednesday 17 October. Also the draw, and any changes to it, will be displayed on the Christchurch Juniors section of our website. A link to this will be emailed once our site reconstruction has been completed. Competition Details: This module is affiliated with Touch Canterbury and Touch NZ. The cost per team is $110 and $30 for an individual player which includes a t-shirt. NB: If any details pertaining to the coach/manager (including contact details) should change please contact the competition administrator ASAP. Cancellations: Cancellations will be posted on our website by 3pm and all teams will also be emailed. Please do not assume that touch will be cancelled. Please try and make sure only the coaches/managers contact the competition administrator. This is just for practical reasons. Eligibility of Players: The Christchurch Park competition organisers rely on coaches to provide the correct school year of players. If the school year is challenged, the onus is on the player to produce proof of school year and we reserve the right to approach schools to confirm that the player’s school year provided is correct. Teams that play a game with any player(s) not in the correct grade will forfeit the game unless agreed prior to the start of the competition. Scoreboard: The points for each round will be updated on the point’s table and displayed on our website before the next playing night. Please note that the 0 – 2 grade does not have scorecards and a competition table will not be kept. Dress Standard and Match Points: Each team’s players MUST wear the same colour t-shirt when playing; All players MUST have identification numbers (preferably not less than 16cm in height) on the back of their playing shirt; Shoes MUST be worn at all times by both players and referees No jewellery or watches may be worn. Match Points will be allocated as follows; 3 points for a win, 2 points for a draw and 1 point for a loss. No points will be awarded for a default/forfeit and in the event of a default/forfeit the non-offending team will be awarded the win. NOTE: 0-2 Grade No points will be maintained as this grade will not be competitive. General: For all mixed grades 3 girls must be on the field at all times!! The only exception is Yr 0-2. Please be organised and ready before the start time of your game. The siren will be sounded for the start of the game, at halftime and the end of the game. Please note that the siren nd will not be sounded to indicate the start of the 2 half of your game. Teams are to have a 1 or 2 minute break and nd then begin the 2 half themselves under the referees command. Have a great season!
