This app’s interface looks just like the miniTek – making it extremely easy to use. And it’s practical and discreet...what looks like texting from a phone is really a hearing aid adjustment or a command to connect to an audio source, like a TV. What does the miniTek Remote App do? • Pairs with miniTek • Screen of the smartphone becomes a visual display for the miniTek • Moving the User Interface of the miniTek to the smartphone screen offers advanced functionality compared to using the miniTek alone • Large and easy-to-use “buttons” are helpful for those with dexterity or vision problems • Built-in user guide • Makes activities like watching TV and talking on the phone easier, all with one device • What looks like texting is really an adjustment to the hearing instrument settings How to download the FREE miniTek® Remote App for smartphones. • Go to the Google Play™* Store or scan the QR code below to get there directly. Search for “miniTek Remote App”. • Follow the prompts to install the app. • Once the app is installed you can enable it when you turn on miniTek. You will also need to confirm that miniTek has been updated with software for Connexx 7.2 or above then pair the two devices. Using miniTek with Cell and Landline Phones When you make a call with a Bluetooth® wireless technology enabled phone or cell phone, miniTek allows you to use your hearing instruments as a wireless headset. Instead of using the telephone microphone, you speak into miniTek and listen through your hearing instruments. Pairing Before you can use miniTek with your phone, you need to pair them: •Press for about 3 seconds to turn miniTek on. •Activate the Bluetooth® function in your phone. •Press for about 5 seconds to start pairing miniTek with your phone. When pairing mode has been activated, all 3 buttons (on/off button, telephone button, and audio source button) shine for 3 seconds, then the telephone button flashes. •Search in the menu of your phone for other Bluetooth® devices. •Choose "RCU Connect" to pair miniTek and the phone. •Enter the PIN "0000" if requested. Refer to the user guide of your connected device for more detailed information on how to link devices via Bluetooth. Accepting and ending an incoming call •Press to accept the incoming call. •Speak into miniTek's microphone to talk. •Press to terminate the call. Your hearing instruments switch back to the hearing program you used before taking the call. If paired with 2 phones, miniTek uses different ring tones to distinguish incoming calls. Rejecting an incoming call •Press for about 3 seconds to reject the incoming call if supported by the phone. Making and ending a call •Dial the desired number on your phone (many phones automatically transfer the connection from the phone to the miniTek). •Press to terminate the call. If you need to manually transfer between the phone and miniTek To make a call – •Press twice to transfer the connection from your phone to miniTek. To end the call – •Press twice to transfer the connection from miniTek back to the phone.
