iPo Card Game Notes

iPo Card Game Notes
The game is made up of the laminated cards. One set of input in ‘ipo cards
ip.doc’ and one set of output in ‘ipo cards op.doc’
Split the class into groups of 3s or 4s, and give each group a pair of cards.
Ask them to discuss the inputs and outputs and what they could be used for. This
can be difficult to start with so I have also made up a set of pictures of possible
situations from magazines, School, Hospital, Airport, Beach etc.
These two cards could be used to
describe a Baby Alarm in a hospital.
INPUT
LIGHT
OUTPUT
Light Flashes
SOUND
Baby Crying
Get the pupils to write down the input and output and their use on a suitable chart
and then swap the input or the output or the situation card from the pack. First
group to 10 useable iPos gets a merit each.
The activity can be extended to allow the groups to share their ideas with each
other by “show and tell” or by creating a PowerPoint presentation.
A complete kit of resources made up.
