19th Annual
2017 Youth Basketball Classic
General Regulations
1. Teams are expected to play when scheduled. The tournament directors will attempt to work with
scheduling conflicts. Tournament director’s decisions are final! twenty-five dollars ($25.00) of the entry
fee will be retained if the tournament is cancelled because of weather. Master Court Schedule on the
website should always be considered to official schedule.
2. Teams should be checked in at least 30 minutes prior to each game and be ready to play 15 minutes
prior to the scheduled time. Teams should be ready to play five (5) minutes after the completion of the
previous game. Warm-up time will be as time allows. Each team must provide warm-up balls and one
game ball. Referees will decide on a game ball at game time. The home team is responsible for keeping
score at the scorer’s table. Score sheets will be provided.
3. No changes in rosters will be allowed after the first game without tournament director approval. The
roster in the scorebook for the first game will be the certified roster. It is the coach’s responsibility to
verify players and numbers in the official scorebook prior to each game. Players may play for only 1
team in an age division tournament!
4. GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP is the most important skill we can teach our kids. Respect the referees,
coaches, parents and players.
5. High School rules will be used except when special rules as noted. Each team member must have the
same color uniform with numbers. All substitutions must be made at the same time during a dead ball.
All substitutions must report to the scorer’s table before entering the game.
6. Each team will be allowed two (2) full and two (2) thirty-second time-outs per game. Overtimes: Three
(3) minutes for the 1st overtime. Sudden death for the 2nd overtime with the first team to score at least
2 points.
7. Games will consist of two 18-minute halves with a 5-minute half time. There will be a running clock
that will only stop for time outs and injuries. The clock will stop in the last minute of each half for all
dead balls.
8. Full-court press allowed until the pressing team is ahead by 20 points. If ahead by 20 points, the
pressing team must drop back to at least half-court defense. Teams can fast break until the fast
breaking team is ahead by 20 points. If ahead by 20 points, the pressing team must drop back and play
half-court offense.
9. There will be no “Over & Back” or “Back Court” violations on courts 1 & 2. This is due to the small
nature of the facility. If not pressed, the ball should be brought forward offensively in a timely fashion.
Failure to do so will be considered unsportsmanlike and will result in a bench “Technical Foul”.
10. TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP TIE BREAKER: (1) Head-to-Head, (2) Fewest points allowed,
(3) Point differential, (4) Most points scored, (5) Coin toss. The decision of the Tournament Director
will be final
