“PRISON COMMITMENTS” SERVED IN LOCAL JAIL
DUE TO REALIGNMENT STATUTES, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2011

Note: The realignment legislation changed the good time/work time custody credits that are
“earned” by prisoners against the above sentences. By law each defendant is only required to
serve one-half of the commitment noted, or, put another way, 50% of the sentence imposed.
The post supervision column indicates whether a sentence has been “split,” meaning the
defendant’s overall sentence is split by order of the Court between time incarcerated in the county
jail and time on mandatory supervision upon release. If the defendant’s sentence is not split, then
he or she will not have any probation or parole-like supervision upon completion of their full
sentence.
