The Woods Chapel United Methodist Church is
delighted to announce Summer and Fall Enrollment for
our We Care Children’s Ministries. We are excited
about the opportunities available for your children to
participate in this ministry of our church. Our mission is
to connect all children to Jesus Christ!
We believe that each child is uniquely endowed
with a capacity for learning and growing. Our
curriculum is an integrated experience that is in tune
with the development of each child. In developing
our curriculum, we consider the goals for kindergarten
in the Blue Springs and Lee’s Summit school districts.
We provide a spectrum of learning experiences.
Social and emotional development
Creative art in a variety of mediums
Sensory activities
Songs and sounds of music appreciation
Large muscle activities for poise and balance
Fine motor activities for coordination and
confidence
 Field trips to enlarge each child’s world
 Seasonal themes related to God’s creation
 Prayers and spiritual enrichment






Enrollment forms and information will be available in
the office. You are invited to visit our programs at any
time. Feel free to come, look over our facilities, meet

SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAMS
PHILOSOPHY
We Care Children's Ministries will provide a warm, loving
Christian environment for each child. We provide a place
where a child can continue to develop a positive selfimage through quality education programs while still
enjoying the laughter & fun of childhood. All areas of a
child’s development are important. We Care is committed
to providing age appropriate activities for all ages. We
Care is in compliance with all the health & safety
regulations required by the State of Missouri.
We Care promotes the use of Conscious Discipline, a
classroom management program by Dr. Becky Bailey.

BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL
All school-age children are welcome to attend our before
and after school program. Children may eat breakfast in
the morning. We Care will provide a morning and
afternoon snack in a relaxed, safe, and fun environment.
Full-day care is provided when school is not in session.
TRANSPORTATION
Transportation will be provided by We Care for school-age
children going to Chapel Lakes, Hazel Grove, Richardson,
Underwood and Highland Park. Blue Springs Transportation
will provide bus service to Voy Spears and Delta Woods.
Transportation for special clubs at Chapel Lakes and Voy
Spears will be provided by We Care.
SUMMER DAY CAMP
Kindergarten through 5th graders will enjoy this opportunity
to explore and make new friends in a safe, loving, Christian
environment. Field trips, swimming and fun “camp” classes
add to the excitement of summer! Our Teen Learning
Counselor program for 6th, 7th & 8th graders is available for
a limited number of students. Children may be enrolled in
summer camp for 2-5 days per week.
9-MONTH PROGRAMS

12-MONTH PROGRAMS
FULL TIME CARE
Ages 6 weeks through Pre-K
6:00 AM – 6:00 PM Monday through Friday
Our full time care provides vital learning experiences in an
atmosphere of Christian love and concern. We provide
ONLY FULL TIME care for children ages six weeks - preschool.
We offer full or part-time child care for children in PreKindergarten.

Our preschool program provides high quality early
childhood education to help further each child’s
development through learning and play. We learn about
our community through field trips, special guests and
programs.
PLUS+ PROGRAMS and EXTENDED PRESCHOOL
Children in MWF or TTH preschool and Pre-K programs may
be enrolled in our PLUS+ or Activities programs.
Preschool and Pre-K PLUS+ is available on MWF afternoons
for children enrolled in Preschool or AM Pre-K who wish to
enrich the preschool experience.
Pre-K PLUS+ is available on MWF mornings for those enrolled
in PM Pre-kindergarten.
PM Extended is available on MWF (12:00-3:30) for preschool
children who nap.
Children enrolled in a PLUS+ or PM Extended program on
MWF will be served a We Care lunch.
TTH Activities is available for children enrolled in TTH
Preschool or Pre-K and extends the preschool day until 4:00.
We Care will provide an afternoon snack.
