of presentation is acceptable. Maximum 500 words summary.

Medals and Specialist Awards are conferred for specific achievement and
advances in aerospace, not solely for worthy careers. Examples of achievement

the team’s collaboration, including names of key team members being nominated.
Nominations of multi-organisation teams are welcome, although preference will be
given to teams whose members have worked closely together and where the
outcome has been largely dependant on the nominated team members’ own
contributions.

Independent referee contact details are mandatory for all Medals and Awards
without which the application will not be accepted. A written endorsement from
the referee is also mandatory.

Self-nomination is not acceptable. Proposers should be independent of the direct

Royal Aeronautical Society Medals and Awards. Those received after this date will be
carried forwards for inclusion in the 2018 round.
Although your nomination may not be successful in the first instance, be persistent,
these awards are highly competitive so do not give up. If the nomination is of a very high
calibre but just misses being selected, the Medals and Awards Committee may decide to
carry it forward to the following year. If so, you will be advised. There is, however no
guarantee that it would be successful in subsequent years.
