Football Match vs Our Lady Of Walsingham (Home)

On Tuesday 20th September, we played our first match of the season against
Our Lady Of Walsingham. It was a great game; we really should and could have
won.
We started the game with confidence and determination. Stephen scored after
approximately 12 minutes from just over the half- way line. It was from a free
kick which was the result of a foul on Joel just inside he attacking half What an
impressive goal!
Unfortunately, within 5 minutes of the second half , our opponents scored. It
was a little disheartening but we kept our heads up and battled on. Their
striker dribbled the ball through our defence and scored.
It was looking like a draw when they scored their second goal; the ball bounced
unpredictably over our keeper.
We didn’t give up. Derry attacked and just missed- hitting the post
Everyone said we played well. Lucy was voted ‘Player Of The Match.’
