Q:
What is Fit4Football?
A:
Fit4Football (New Zealand Football’s Injury Prevention Programme), warm-up
zones will be available at each venue for teams to warm-up. In addition, there will
be Fit4Football recovery activations at each venue for teams, including hot and
cold baths, preventing injuries.
Q:
What date does my team need to register an Assistant Referee (linesman) by?
A:
At least one person within your team registration must be registered as an
assistant referee by 31st March 2017.
Q:
What happens if my team can’t supply an Assistant Referee (linesman)?
A:
For all group play matches and some positional play-off matches in the Finals
series, teams are required to provide a linesman for their match. If a team cannot
provide one through the various options available, they may forfeit one
competition point for that match. If you are struggling with this requirement,
please email [email protected] to discuss options.
Q:
When will we know what colour strip other teams will be playing in for the Games?
A:
Teams are submitting their colours by the end of March, so this will be collated and
distributed to teams within a competition in early April.
Q:
Can we change the name of our team or alter the country code if incorrect?
A:
Yes, your team manager can. Please email [email protected] to advise the
previous details and what you would like it to read.

If one of our players loses their WMG accreditation, what do we do?

Where do we find our competition and results online?
A:
The WMG Football competition is hosted on the NZ Football website

Click on the HERE button beside the video image to take you to the fixtures for
each competition. The results for all matches will be shown here too.
Q:
What if our team gets held up in traffic on the way to our game?
A:
You need to leave plenty of time to arrive at the allocated field at least 10 minutes
before your match is due to kick-off. If teams are running late, and unable to start
a match with a minimum of seven (7) players ten (10) minutes after the scheduled
kick-off time, the match will be marked as a forfeit win to the opposing team.

Who does our team need to advise if we are running late or need to forfeit a match?
A:
Please call or text or use the What’s App function and notify the Competitions
Manager on +6421896210. Please make sure that you receive a response to
confirm that the message has been received.
Q:
What version of the FIFA Laws of the Game will the World Masters Games be played
under?
A:
2016/17 FIFA Laws of the Games with the new changes that have taken place.
Q:
Can I wear any jewellery or bands on my wrist?
A:
No, as noted in the FIFA Laws of the Game, Law 4 – Player’s Equipment. All items
of jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings leather bands, rubber bands, etc.)
are forbidden and must be removed. Using tape to cover jewellery is not
permitted.

What if we forget to take our team sheets to the match ?
A:
There will be spare copies available from the information desk at each venue.

Q:
How does our team enter their result from the match?
A:
At the conclusion of the game, the referee will complete the team sheets and
require each manager or team official to verify and sign the team sheets. The
referee will then submit the team sheets to the Referee Co-ordinator on site for
results to be entered. No further action is required by the teams.
Q:
What if our team result posted online is incorrect?
A:
Please contact the Competitions Manager via email – [email protected]
or call, text or What’s App on +6421896210 to advise that you believe your result
to be incorrect so that it can be investigated.
Q:
Can we bring our own alcohol to the match venue?
A:
No, QBE Stadium is a licensed venue and alcohol can only be purchased from the
Austin’s Food Design Events kiosks. Westlake Girls and Boys High Schools are
alcohol free due to restrictions in schools. Any alcohol found at any site that is not
permitted, will be confiscated by the Venue Manager.
Q:
What happens if one of our players receives a misconduct (yellow or red card) during
the match?
A:
Team managers will receive an email prior to the team’s next match to advise of
any players that have received a misconduct and if any suspension applies.

How do we get between QBE Stadium & Westlake Girls and Boys High Schools?
A:
You get on the Northern Express (NEX) bus and it takes around 15 minutes on the
NEX between Smales Farm and Albany. View schedule via link below:

Once at Albany, there will be an Albany Loop Service which will run every 15
minutes throughout the day, from a couple of hours before competition start until
one hour after competition finishes. The Loop will only take 5 minutes to get to

Q:
When will the medal ceremonies for each age category be held?
A:
All medal ceremonies will be held immediately after the Final for each competition
on or by the field that the Final was on.
Q:
Will all the games be finished so that we can attend the Closing Ceremony?
A:
Yes, the last games kick-off at 12.30pm on Sunday 30th April and the gates open on
Queen’s Wharf for the Closing Ceremony at 5.00pm. For all information on both
