16-19 Bursary Scheme

Post16 @Coopers
Shaping your Future Today
Did you know?
 Coopers operates a Bursary Scheme which provides financial support to
Post 16 students, subject to certain conditions?
 The scheme operates three levels of payments, based on qualifying criteria
and school attendance levels, as follows:



Level 1 = £25 per week
Level 2 = £15 per week
Level 3 = £5 per week
Did you also know?
 If you qualify for Level 1 or Level 2 payment you automatically qualify for a
free meal card to be used in the canteen, subject to a daily cash limit.
 If you received Free School Meals in Year 11 then you should be entitled to
this benefit in the sixth form.
How will these payments help?
 Studying in the sixth form is often a pressurised time for young people, and
financial worries can only add to this pressure. At Coopers we will do
everything we can to help you succeed in the sixth form.
 Some subjects such as Art, Photography, Drama and English Literature may
incur additional expenses such as materials, books or trips.
Please take the time to:
 Read the leaflet on the Sixth Form page of the school’s website or ask for a
copy from MAC reception; this provides all the information you need about
the Coopers Bursary Scheme but if you have any questions please do ask a
member of the Sixth Form staff.
What happens next?
 Fill in the form at the back of the leaflet and return it to
the Sixth Form. One payment per half-term made directly into
student bank accounts, usually during the first two weeks of
each half-term.
