COST: $35 per session or $160 for week of five sessions
(Two camps, a total of 10 sessions, are $310.)
BEVERLY WILLIAMS is art teacher at Union
Academy IB Middle in Bartow. She has taught art for
29 years and has been Nationally Board Certified.
She teaches art classes at Girls Inc. and has taught
at Polk Museum of Art, Kids at College, Girl Scout
Camp, church programs and as an adjunct professor
at Polk State College.
Fine Art Creation Station
This camp will be filled with a variety of fine art
production projects using different art media
each day. Students will create their own works
of art and learn techniques to achieve exciting
results. Supply costs are included.
ART MEDIA BY DAY
Mon.: Pencil; Tues.: Colored pencil; Wed.: Pastel;
Thurs.: Watercolors; Fri.: Acrylics
MARK WILLIAMS is chess coach at Lakeland
Christian and St. Paul Lutheran schools. He also
gives private chess lessons. He is a U.S. Chess
Federation A-rated player and is a USCF-certified
Local Level Tournament Director. Williams is a Board
member of the Lakeland Chess Club and currently
holds the Game in 90 minutes championship title.
Games of Strategy
This camp will introduce many board games
of skill. Games included are Battleship,
Checkers, Connect Four, Othello, Stratego
and the ultimate game of strategy — Chess.
Chess Knights
This camp will provide instruction in all phases
of the game of Chess. It will be filled with fun
activities, competition, learning about historic
figures of the game and game variations like team
chess and Chess4. Students will learn about
character through the Knight’s Code of Chilvary.
CHESS KNIGHTS 9 am - 11:45 pm
GAMES OF STRATEGY 12:15 pm - 3 pm
COST: $20 per session or $90 per week
(Two camps, a total of 10 sessions, are $180.)
Art camp is for students entering 4th-9th grades in 2016-17. Chess and
Games camps are for 1st-9th grades. Snacks will be provided for each
session. The curriculum will be tailored to the ages and abilities of the
students. There will be a lunch break between sessions.

Camp Pre-Registration
Each camp has five sessions. Select any number of sessions you wish.
Pre-registration ends June 7 (postmarked OK).
After that sessions are $40 each for SPLS or $24 each for LCS.
