Advisor Instructions
Step 1

Using your internet browser, login to go to the UW-Oshkosh Home page:
http://www.uwosh.edu/tw
Result:
The UW-Oshkosh home page displays.
Step 2

Login to Titan Web: Click on the Titan Web Logo
Result:
The Welcome to Titan Web page displays.
Step 3

Click on the Titan Web logo
Result:
The PeopleSoft login Page displays.
Step 4

Enter your;

campus User ID (i.e., W1234567) and
Password (i.e., BEFL4567)
in UPPER CASE;
Click on "Sign In".

IMPORTANT!! For security reasons, you need to Change your Password the first time you log on to
TitanWeb. You are encouraged to change your password often!
Results:
The Home menu page displays If you have a login problem:

Make sure you used Upper case letters
Contact the Help Desk with password or browser problems by calling (920) 424-3020, or emailing
[email protected].

From the Home Menu , click on Learning
Management
Result:
The Learning Management Menu for the Advisement
menu group will display

Select

View Advisee’s Information - OR New/Drop-in Advisees
Note: If you have a large number of advisees you may find selecting
Result:
A list of all assigned advisees will be returned. A box to enter a Student ID will be on the screen

New/Drop-in Advisees more useful.

Find the student you want on your pick list - OR -

Enter the Students ID number in the box on the New/Drop-In Advisee page
Result:
The student you wish to view will be activated

Special Notes:

The New/Drop-In Advisee box will allow a name search by clicking on the
magnifying glass icon. Name format is: Lastname,Firstname (it is case
sensitive)

If the student’s name is underlined you can click on the name to pop-up an email message to send a message to the student

Click on the down arrow of the **Student Details** box to view the options
available.
Special Note: The other items on the drop-down list are also active.
Result:
The list of options will display as a drop-down list.
Step 10

Select “STAR On-Line”.

Click on the Go button.
Result:
The word “Processing” will flash in the upper right hand corner of the screen until the audit appears

Click on the View STAR On-Line link
Result:
The STAR On-Line Request Page will display.

The STAR Request Page looks like this:

Select the "Request
new STAR" button to
initiate processing of
the STAR

Select "View old
STAR" button to
initiate processing of
the STAR

Select "View old
STAR" button to see
an old STAR. Data
will be accurate
through the time
stamp date.
Step 13
Produce a new STAR section To get a STAR with current information:

Click on the Request new STAR button.

The processing status of your request is now displayed in the View old STAR
section of the page.

Wait about 30 seconds and click on the Get new STAR button.

If the STAR does not appear wait 30 seconds and try again.

The audit to will return to your screen. View an old STAR section To view a
STAR that has already been processed with the data current as of the Time
Stamp:

Click on the View old STAR
Result:
Special note about the data contained in your STAR:
Your course history, major, grades and other data needed by your STAR is refreshed only when you
process a New STAR. It is recommended that you use the Request new STAR button in most cases to be
sure that the data is as up to date as possible
The View old STAR button exists to give you a back-up copy of the STAR. This option should only be
used if you are absolutely sure the have not been any changes to the students’s record since the Time
Stamp date or if there is some technical problem that prevents a new STAR request from finishing its
processing.

Result:

Select "Get new STAR"
button to view your new
STAR. You must click this
button to see the STAR it
will not automatically
appear on your screen.

When the Get new STAR
button is active, the
processing status of your
request is displayed on
the bottom of your
screen. Clicking the Get
new STAR will refresh
the status or return the
new STAR to the screen.
