Overview



"Bundles" are groups of standards
arranged together to create the
endpoints for units of instruction.
Bundling is just one step in a
curriculum development process.
Select standards that work
together—a bundle—to promote
proficiency in using the ideas
expressed.
Often the bundle will include PEs
from a single NGSS topic (see
topic arrangement) or DCI (see
DCI arrangement), but a bundle
could draw in PEs from other
topics or DCIs.

Task: Bundle Performance Expectations



Working in a small group, looking through the performance
expectations in the Next Generation Science Standards to
consider potential performance expectation bundles.
Create at least one bundle with your small group.
Record your work on the Google Doc called 1-Bundle in the
shared Google Folder.

Record the performance expectations in the left column.
Explain your rationale for bundling these particular performance
expectations in the right column.
Be prepared to share with the whole group.

Task: What Do I Want to Remember?
 Reflect on this portion of the storyline
development process - What reminders
or notes do you want to make for
yourself?
 Work as a large group to generate a list
of general reminders and/or notes.
 After discussing as a large group,
consider your personal needs and
record your reminders in your
workbook on your Understanding the
Process page 3.
