RE:
Dual Credit Crosswalk for Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses
In order to assist schools, parents, and students with opportunities to earn dual credit in Career and
Technical Education pathways, IDOE and CHE have created a CTE Dual Credit Crosswalk to be used as an
advising tool as they provide guidance to students regarding their high school graduation plans and
coursework.
The CTE Dual Credit Crosswalk provides schools with the designated DOE coursework (course code and
title) that directly correlates to the post-secondary institution, coursework (course code and title) and
degree pathway (i.e. A.A.S., B.S., Certificate, etc…) it leads to, as well as the number of post-secondary
credits that could be earned for each course through the dual credit agreement.
The Dual Credit Crosswalk is not an exclusive list of all dual credit courses schools may offer to their
students, but rather, the courses that have been approved through the Commission for Higher
Education (CHE) and Statewide Transfer and Articulation Committee (STAC) as part of the Priority Dual
Credit CTE (PCL-CTE) list. If a high school has a formal agreement with a college to award dual credit for
these courses, students may earn both high school credits and transcripted college credits as specified in
the dual credit agreement. Per Indiana legislation, the college can charge high school students no more
than $25 per college credit for PCL-CTE courses taught by a high school instructor and the college
receives funding as part of the CHE’s Dual Credit biennium budget recommendation.
The CTE Dual Credit Crosswalk will be updated annually and provided to schools prior to the start of the
school year.
If you have any questions regarding the CTE Dual Credit Crosswalk, and/or request a high school course
be added to the crosswalk, please contact Jenny Berry at [email protected] and Tari Lambert at
[email protected] for further guidance and assistance.
