MARCH MADNESS TOURNAMENT

Price: $80 per team
Registration Deadline: Wednesday, Feb. 22nd 2017
The teams local to the YMCA will play first since they are closer in proximity to the Y. Games
will be played at the Grand River Area Family YMCA in the North and South Gyms. Please
check your schedules carefully. Medals will be given to those who finish in1st and 2nd place
in the 3rd-4th, 5th-6th and 7th-8th Grade Divisions. It is recommended that your team bring its
own warm up balls, as there will be only one game ball at each court. Game style will be
double elimination, guaranteed three games. Please note you could play several games
back to back.
Be early. If you’re on time, you’re late.
Here is a simple reminder of the game rules for this tournament:
 Games will be two 20-minute halves with 5 minutes between halves.
 Clock will stop only during the final 2 minutes of each half.
 Each team will have two time-outs per game, lasting 1 minute each.
 If tied at the end of regulation play, a 2 minute over-time will be played to determine a
winner. You will receive 1 extra time-out during the overtime period. All ties will be
broken.
 Teams cannot press with a lead of 20 points or more. They must pick up their man at
half court.
 Uniforms with numbers on the back must be worn. (We do not provide these)
 Coaches, who receive their second technical foul at any point, will be removed from the
gym for the remainder of the tournament. Another parent or assistant coach will take
over coaching duties of the team for the remainder of the tournament.
 Players that receive their second technical foul at any point in the tournament will be
removed from that game and not allowed to play for the remainder of the tournament.

Let each of your parents know that admission will be charged at the door on
Saturday: $3.00 for adults and $1.00 for children (6 & Under Free). Your hand
will be stamped and that stamp is good for entry to the tournament for the
remainder of the day on Saturday and Sunday if needed. (Coaches and players –
Free)
