Reward Trip: Mrs Marshall’s class earned
enough credit points this term to choose a reward trip. They chose to go to the Think tank in
Birmingham. It was a fabulous experience and
everyone really enjoyed it. Well done.
Live Music Performance
On Tuesday 21st March, a group of musicians
from Entrust’s Music & Performing Arts Service came into school to perform for us.
Year 9 students wrote reports after the concert.
Kieran Pennington wrote: “The concert was
played by Richard Foxall, Rachel Green and
Sam Cormack. They played different instruments like piano, trombone, flute, djembe, clarinet and saxophone.”
Paul Hall wrote: “The musicians played music
from around the world. I enjoyed the music
from England because they played music from
Match of the Day. They travelled the world
using music from France, USA, Brazil, India,
Mexica, China and Africa.”
Harrison Middleton wrote: “I loved the instruments. My favourite was the clarinet. I would
recommend it.”
EARTH
HOUR 2017-
In year 7 we
celebrated
earth hour by
turning the
lights off and
making the
classroom
dark. We melted chocolate and
ate marshmallows and played sleeping lions. We
did all this to think about saving
electricity and to help our planetRyan
I learnt that the earth is getting
warmer and that polar bears are
going to be extinct. Last year most
of the earth turned their lights
off. We turned the lights off and
played sleeping lions and ate chocolate and marshmallows and grapesLiam Flynn

PGL TRIP: On Friday 3rd March a group of ks3 students went to the PGL at Boreatton Park for 3 days. After we arrived and settled in we enjoyed sitting around an
open fire in the great hall. We played lots of fun games and we even cooked some
marshmallows, they were tasty. Then we went back to our dormitories and had some
free time before bed. In the morning, after breakfast, my group went to go on the
zip wire. It looked really scary over the lake. I had a go and the zip wire went superfast and was super fun. Then later on we did fencing, the obstacle course and abseiling. My favourite was the obstacle course because I fell a lot and got really muddy.
On the Sunday we all enjoyed the activities like the giant swing, tunnel trail and raft
building. All three groups built a raft that floated in the water and luckily no one fell
in! Before coming home on Monday we played aeroball and tried archery. Aeroball is
really good because we had to jump on trampolines and throw the ball into the hoops.
I am really glad that I went to PGL because I got to speak to people that I didn’t really know and made some new friends. I would really like to go again in the future!By
