Originally established by the sector for the sector, our membership base consists of socially enterprising businesses and includes representation from the private, public and community and voluntary sectors. Social Enterprise Network is member-led with Non Executive Directors elected from the membership. Our vision is to: ‘Support the development and growth of entrepreneurship across the Liverpool City Region, raising both the level of engagement and trading ability of social enterprise businesses to enhance their economic viability, sustainability, social and environmental impact and contribution to the local economy.’ SEN is an organisation which: Embraces, recognises and values the commitment, skills and diversity of its staff and Board of Directors. Social value is threaded throughout our business and we are proud of our commitment to ‘buy local, buy social’. To help SEN deliver our services and activities, we work in partnership with our membership. Our business model is based on two broad principles: securing work either through consultancy or contracts and utilizing the skills and knowledge of our members to deliver this work, and purchasing from local suppliers for our events, annual awards and conferences. We are seeking to establish a framework of suppliers who we can commission work, goods and services from when we need to deliver our annual programme of activities, projects, contracts etc. To be able to apply to join the framework you must meet the following criteria: Hold standard membership of the Social Enterprise Network under the new paid membership model (June 2015) as a minimum. Demonstrate a commitment to quality and high standards of delivery and customer care. Be a social enterprise or a socially conscious private business and be able to demonstrate your business values and principles are aligned to those of SEN. Demonstrate a commitment to social value and have signed the 10% More for Social Value Charter. Evidence the quality of your work through referee statements and examples of work undertaken. 3 Be prepared to make a social value contribution to Social Enterprise Network from any work commissioned by us. For example by proving a workshop for our members, offering a discount to our members.
