HMS Daily Announcements Wednesday, October 7th Homework club is back and better than ever. We meet every Monday/Wednesday in room 155 and every Tuesday/Thursday in room 278. If you're looking for a quiet place to get your homework done, come on out. Sixth grade students will have the opportunity to see all the clubs and activities HMS has to offer at the Activities Fair today (Wednesday). Come check it out in the cafeteria during advisory or immediately after school. All 6th grade Chorus Members that would like to audition for Chamber Choir should sign up for an audition slot on Mrs. Langley's office door. Auditions will be held today (Wednesday), tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday morning starting at 6:45am in the Choral Office. Attention All 6th Grade Girls! Are you interested in making new friends, learning a new sport, or just having fun? Come on out to the 6th Grade Girls Volleyball Club! We will be having an informational meeting after school tomorrow (Thursday) in room 203. Look for more information at the activities fair this Wednesday during advisory. If you have any questions please speak to Ms. Rube in room 203. Do you love science and want some enrichment outside the classroom? Maybe Science Olympiad is for you! Come join us for an informational meeting on Thursday, October 15, after school in Ms. Fitzpatrick’s room 255! When you read the Red Pencil . . . didn’t you want to help Amira? Be like the relief worker and give Red Pencils to others who want them! Join our HMS club, BUILDuP, that works together with the Haverford High School students to promote giving others access to an education. Last summer, a group of HHS students traveled to Haiti to help build an elementary school! Bring your own ideas about how we can help others have the chance to learn to read and write!!!! The 7th grade girls' volleyball team won in two games against Paxon Hollow yesterday. Shout outs to Cara Frederick, Hannah Dougherty and Haley Greenwald on their fantastic serves. Great work, Lady Fords. 8th grade girls' soccer team had their first win of the season beating Paxon Hollow Middle School 4-0. Nicole Mazzella, Abby Del Duca, Amy Gannon, and Campbell Bonner scored goals. Next game is Thursday, home against Welsh Valley. The 7th grade girls' soccer team came together to win a fantastic 5:2 victory against Paxon Hollow. Rachel (Liz) Yocom scored 2 goals, and a hat trick by Jessica Miller... that's right, she scored three goals! Other standouts include Brooke S and Emma W on defense and Mollyanne B and Emma H in mid. Way to go girls! Come watch us play tomorrow at Lynnewood against Welsh Valley. The HMS unlimited football team defeated Paxon Hallow 41-6 on Tuesday. The Fords had great play from the offensive line and a stellar performance on the defensive side. Trey Blair, Nick Sammartino, Justin McQueen, and Na'Aire Hannah each tallied a touchdown. The Seventh Grade Field Hockey team earned their second win of the season defeating Paxon Hollow by a score of 3 to 0. Anna Weinstein, Julianne Wagner and Mia Chupein scored goals. Katelyn Celebre had 2 saves in goal. Great game, girls! The 8th Grade Field Hockey team had an impressive win yesterday defeating Paxon Hallow 8-0 on the turf at the Haverford Reserve. HMS goals were scored by Mia Ciancio, Connie Catcavage, Shannon Quaile, Paige Corcoran with 2, and Maya LeBlanc with a hat trick. It was an outstanding team effort. Congratulations 8th Grade Field Hockey! The 8th Grade Boys' Soccer team beat Paxon Hollow yesterday 3 to 0. Aidan Tripler scored twice and Evan Carfrey scored once. The rest of the team played a solid game from beginning to end.
