Schlitterbahn Presents 12th Annual Rock ‘n Roll for Kids Benefitting
Communities In Schools
New Braunfels, TX – Schlitterbahn Waterparks presents the 12th Annual Rock ‘n Roll for Kids
fundraiser benefitting Communities In Schools of South Central Texas (CIS). This year’s event
will be on April 5, 2014 from 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm at the New Braunfels Civic Center. This is the
largest fundraiser for Communities In Schools of South Central Texas, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit
organization which partners with local school districts, businesses and community organizations
to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and
achieve in life.
This will be the 12th year of Rock ‘n Roll for Kids and the 12th year Schlitterbahn is the
presenting sponsor. “Our long-standing partnership with Schlitterbahn began with our first Rock
‘n Roll for Kids event in 2003.” said Chris Douglas, executive director of Communities In
Schools of South Central Texas. “Without their deep commitment to our Communities In
Schools organization, this fundraising event would never have gotten off the ground! It has
become a signature affair for the community that has enabled us to provide life-changing
services to thousands of young people in our community. Our hats are off to them for their
dedication!”

General Manager for Schlitterbahn New Braunfels. "We have a long standing interest in the great
work they do in our community for youth and are happy to play a role in helping them achieve
their mission.” Schlitterbahn supports the efforts of over 700 charities across the state;
Communities in Schools is considered a “charity of choice."
The evening will include a delicious menu from River City Catering, the electrifying music of
The Big Time and some of the most exciting Live and Silent auction items ever including
phenomenal Travel Packages to San Diego, CA (including a sailing experience on the America’s
Cup “Stars & Stripes”) and Banff, Calgary & Lake Louise, Canada! There will also be an

the legendary Great Legs contest as well as the Big Bucks Meal Deal and other fun activities. In
addition, 10 “CIS Champions” (an educator who exhibits an extraordinary understanding and
support of the CIS mission) will be celebrated during the evening.
