injure you or others.
You cannot control the grade you get as a
result of your choice.
You can choose to be sexually active.

You have to deal with the STD or teenage
pregnancy.

If you knowingly make risky choices, at
least be aware of the possible
consequences.
Nondecision is a decision to let
someone else be in charge of your life.
Judgment and Responsibility
1. Judgment: the process of forming
an opinion or reaching a
conclusion based on the available
material.
2. Good Judgment: using the
Critical Thinking Process to form
an opinion or reach a conclusion.
3. Poor Judgment: NOT using the
Critical Thinking Process to form
an opinion or reach a conclusion.

4. Responsible: Being liable or
called onto answer for personal
behavior.
5. Responsible Behavior: Taking
responsibility for actions,
decisions, belonging and space.
Types of Behavior
1. Passive Types
 These are people who let
others walk all over them.
 They follow the “crowd” and
allow others to make
decisions for them.
 They lack the courage to
express inner feelings.
 They are generally followers.
 They allow passivism to
control their emotions and
are disappointed in how they
are manipulated by others.

2. Aggressive Types




They are usually in the middle of drama.
They are masters at verbal or physical battle.
They thrive on intimidating others.
A person who lets aggression take over his or
her life.
 They often bring out the worst in OTHERS.

3. Assertive Types
 These individuals calmly, but insistently, state
their feelings in a non-emotional, nonthreatening way.
 They do not allow others to manipulate,
intimidate or control their behavior.
 They use “I”-Messages (I think, I feel, I am, I
don’t, I want, I won’t, I will, etc.)
 If this individual is in a threatening situation,
they will walk away and seek help if
appropriate.
 They tell someone if the situation is harmful,
dangerous or against the law.
