WKBC AM & FM is offering a scholarship to assist one outstanding
broadcasting student with expenses for college. Applicant must be a
high school senior, provide an official transcript, provide two letters of
recommendation, write an essay (typed, 500 words) describing why
you are interested in Broadcasting and which career path you wish to
pursue.

This scholarship will honor and celebrate Danielle Liotta’s life. The
recipient will be a graduating member of the LNHS Class of 2016 who
plan to attend a four year college after graduation. Additionally,
applicant should have a minimum 3.9 unweighted GPA, no discipline
referrals, complete an application and provide a resume, have taken
at least two upper level science classes (i.e. Chemistry, Physics,
Anatomy, AP Bio, Chem, or Physics) and have earned three credits in
a foreign language.

HOPE’S Wing Scholarship April 15

planning to attend a four year college after graduation, and must have
been a four year member of the LNHS Marching Band. Additionally,
applicant should have a minimum 3.7 unweighted GPA, no discipline
referrals, complete an application and provide a resume, have taken
at least two upper level science classes (i.e. Chemistry, Physics,
Anatomy, AP Bio, Chem, or Physics) and have earned three credits in
a foreign language.
Hickory Alumnae Chapter will award scholarship to females of African
American descent that are graduating high school seniors and will be
attending a 4- year college/ university in the summer or fall semester
of 2016. Applicant must submit completed application, one letter of
recommendation from a high school teacher/counselor/administrator,
one letter of recommendation from a community member, an official
high school transcript, copies of SAT/ACT scores, and a copy of
college/university acceptance letter.
Criteria for recipients: Individuals must be graduating from high school
with the class of 2016, applicant must be a resident of Iredell County,
individuals must demonstrate a need for financial assistance with
those not receiving any other financial assistance taking priority,
applicants must be planning to enroll in/accepted by an accredited
college/university/community college, applicant must have a definite
plan for a career in a chosen field, recipients may re-apply each year
throughout their bachelor degree program and will be considered on
the same level as other applicants.

The purpose of this scholarship is to assist students in obtaining a
degree at any North Carolina college, in any field of study, with priority
given to Family and Consumer Sciences.
Student must complete application including a recent photo, SAT/ACT
scores, and an official transcript, Applicant’s parent(s) must complete
the confidential financial data form. Preference is given to Iredell
County farm Bureau members pursuing a degree in an agricultural
related field.
Scholarship will be awarded to an Iredell County student who has
been accepted to a community college or four year college/university.
The student’s chosen field of study must be in horticulture, agriculture,
conservation, environmental studies, landscape architecture, or
related fields.
This scholarship is presented to a deserving graduate of LNHS, MHS,
or SIHS who will attend an accredited college/ university after
graduation.
Applicants must complete application packet, submit two letters of
recommendation from high school teachers, and one letter of
recommendation from someone in the community. Scholarship
recipient will be required to attend a regularly scheduled Statesville
Kiwanis Club evening meeting upon graduation to receive their
scholarship award.

Scholarship will be awarded to a well rounded senior at Mooresville
High, South Iredell, and Lake Norman High willing to offer his/her
services through participation in a variety of school activities and
clubs/organizations/teams (academic/non academic- i.e. student
government, band/choral groups, athletics, technical/vocational
teams, theatre). The recipient will be of good character and exhibit a
positive attitude toward others as well as his/her school. Participation
in not about the quantity of activities, but the quality of your
involvement. Selection of this scholarship will not be based on grades,
class rank, or need.
Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who desires to
serve others by choosing a career in public service. Applicant must
complete application, submit a letter of recommendation from a
community member, and participate in an interview.
Applicant must: be a current Statesville Branch NAACP member in
good standing at least 6 months prior to filing application, complete
and submit application by deadline, have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
This scholarship program assists the children of law enforcement
officers who were killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty.

The NCRMA is accepting applications for this scholarship from
students who work in retail or have parents who work in retail. More

Eligibility requirements: must be a resident of NC, must enroll in an
accredited school of higher education in NC, must enroll in an
accounting degree program with six (6) or more credit hours per
semester, must show a firm intention to continue in the field of
accounting.
Recipient must graduate from an Iredell Statesville High School, have
a minimum weighted GPA of 2.5, have earned seven units of credit in
performing ensembles by the end of the senior year, complete an
application, plan to attend an institute of higher learning.
Each year the SECU Foundation funds one $10,000 scholarship for a
student at each public high school in NC to attend a public NC
university. Although the SECU Scholarship Program wishes to
recognize academic achievement, the “People Helping People”
Scholarship has a much broader purpose; recognizing leadership,
integrity, and community involvement.

social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most
votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one
winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college
