Merger Information Leaflet

Moving Ahead
We are committed to providing everyday healthcare that is accessible to all adults
and children
Why our practices?
The Doctors at Parkside Surgery and
Oxford Road Medical Centre are
pleased to announce that their practices
will merge from April 2018.
The Doctors along with their teams see
this as an exciting opportunity which
will enable them to build on the high
standard of care that is currently
delivered.
Why merge?
The NHS is changing by moving some care out of
hospitals closer to your home. We therefore need a
broader range of skilled medical professionals to
work closely with our patients. By becoming a larger
practice we will be able to have the expertise needed
to focus on our patient’s needs.
What’s next?
Both practices were
looking to work more
closely with other
surgeries in the area
with
a
view
to
expanding the care
services provided.
We both realised that
there was a need to
change for the future
and
develop
our
services.
It soon became clear
that both practices
were well matched in
their values and vision
of patient care for the
future.
All
our
existing
practice premises will
continue as normal.
We have no plans to
close any of the sites.

each site.
It’s good to have options but will I still be able to see my usual doctor?
Of course. You will be able to book ahead to see the doctor of your choice.
How can you be involved?
Over the next few weeks there will be
questionnaires available in our waiting rooms to
seek your views and we would like to hear from
as many of you as possible. We will take your
answers into account when developing the
services across the new practice.
Both current practices have Patient Participation
Groups and details can be provided to anyone
wishing to get more involved.
