This allows BVSC Team Challenge staff to source a project, carry out H&S and insurance checks, order tools and materials, prepare instructions, attend the whole Challenge day and provide an impact report. Tools and Materials In addition to the facilitation fee, we also require a budget to purchase tools and materials for the project. As a guide, we suggest a figure of approximately £15-£30 per volunteer. Discounted rates We receive excellent discounts from our high quality trade suppliers due to our registered charity status and we also absorb the VAT on our orders. We pass these savings onto you, ensuring value for money and providing the host organisation with the best possible finish. Cost effective It is important to us to make the projects as cost effective as possible and we are able to work within any available budget. You will only be charged for the actual tools and materials purchased/hired. Team Challenge Birmingham Why do we pay to volunteer? More than a simple matching service, Team Challenge offers quality training and personal development opportunities for employees that also benefit the local community. We source, plan and facilitate the activity for you to ensure a hassle free process. Team Challenge Birmingham is entirely funded by the facilitation fee paid by participating companies. A qualified Team Challenge Officer carries out risk assessments, health and safety checks and provides a First Aider at each Challenge. A Team Challenge Officer attends the whole Challenge day to ensure all work is carried out to the very highest possible standard and to support your team to get the most out of their day. Team Challenge Birmingham The Process A business is interested in volunteering a team of employees for a day of community action volunteering in Birmingham Company Representative contacts BVSC Team Challenge Officer with rough numbers and type of project required Facilitation fee is agreed and paid to support project research BVSC Team Challenge Officer researches an appropriate project and submits an overview to the Team Leader for their approval Once an appropriate project and tool and materials budget has been agreed, Company Representative and Team Challenge Officer visit the project to ensure it meets requirements BVSC Team Challenge Officer carries Company Representative receives out a Risk Assessment and creates a booking confirmation and commits Team Challenge checklist for to Challenge participants Company Representative distributes Risk Assessment and checklist to volunteers. BVSC Team Challenge Officer organises the tasks to be completed and orders materials, equipment and PPE at discounted rate Team Leader organises lunch for volunteers Team Challenge Day Volunteer Team arrive on site for a day of fully instructed and facilitated action volunteering Team Challenge Officer collates feedback and photos and provides summary report to Team Leader Team Challenge Officer invoices company for cost of tools and materials
