Adhere to GS1 Standards and Rules for foundational attributes in internal setup – Foundational attributes: Brand Name, Declared Net Content/Unit of Measure, Pack Quantity. A new GTIN must be assigned at all applicable levels of change, following the GTIN Allocation Rules. 2. Assign data owners throughout the organization – Operations, Supply Chain, R&D, Packaging, Marketing, etc. – Documented process with control mechanisms 3. Appoint one entity/department/individual as the sole owner of product data submitted to the GDSN a. 4. 5. Initial Attributes Foundational Attributes • Brand Name • Declared Net Content / UOM • GTIN • Pack Quantity Fundamental Attributes • Dimensions- Case Level • (length/width/height) • Dimensions - Inner Pack • (if shared/applicable) • Dimensions - Item level • A change to any of these attributes in the product preproduction stage does not require adherence to the GS1 GTIN Allocation Rules. Once in production the rules will need to be adhered to. (if shared/applicable) • Ti/Hi • Country of Origin • Gross Weight/UOM *The Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) is considered foundational and will be audited for adherence to the GS1 Standards.
