ISLE OF MAN GOVERNMENT AND HAMBLIN EMPLOYMENT GROUP ANNOUNCE THE
LAUNCH OF THE FIRST EVER E-GAMING FOUNDATION COURSE FOR THE ISLAND
The Isle of Man Government’s Department of Economic Development and Hamblin
Employment Group today announce that the first ever foundation course for e-Gaming will
be available on the Island for people considering or starting a career in the sector.
The e-Gaming sector is the fastest growing sector on the Island and is now host to 25 active
licence holders and employs over 600 people in a myriad of different roles. The e-Gaming
Foundation Course has been designed for those wishing to acquire the knowledge and skills
necessary for entry into this exciting and dynamic sector. Held over three days from 21st
September 2010, the course consists of four modules designed to increase the participants’
awareness and understanding of the e-Gaming sector and how they might position and
present themselves to a potential employer.
The course has been written following
research into what the larger e-Gaming employers on Island are specifically looking for from
candidates.
Course content:
Module 1 – What is e-Gaming?
Module 2 – The ideal Employee
Module 3 – e-Gaming: Risk and Social Responsibility
Module 4 – CV Skills and Interview Techniques
The Isle of Man’s Department for Economic Development is funding 50% of each of the
selected candidate’s course fee for the first three groups. As such the course fee is £125
(actual course fee is £250).
Garth Kimber, Head of e-Gaming Development, Isle of Man Government’s Department

understand and learn the skills that some of the fastest growing businesses on the Island
are keen to find.”
Alex Downie MLC, Department of Economic Development member representing eGaming, Isle of Man Government commented: “Not only does this raise the profile of the
industry both locally and further afield, but it is also a show of support for our existing
employers in the sector and will assist them in increasing their employment of Manx
workers.”
Commenting on the launch, Emma Allard, Chief Executive Officer at Hamblin, said:

The e-Gaming Foundation Course will take place on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd September 2010
