Rules and Regulations
General organization
1. The organization of the World Cup Final 2017 has been allotted by the FMJD to the
Russian Draughts Federation and will take place from March 1st, til March 12th in Ufa.
2. There will be 2 separate tournaments. One for men and one for women with 10 players
each. Participants according following schema:
1. World Champion 2016
2. Challenger 2016
3. World Champion 2015
4. Champion of Asia
5. Champion of Africa
6. Champion of Europe
7. Champion of Pan-America
8. World Cup 2016 winner
9. Sponsor place
10. Organisator place
All places are personal.
3. Reserve players, according the final standing of the World Cup classification 2016.

Format of the tournament
4. The tournament will be played as a round-robin, so 9 rounds in total.
5. The official rules and regulations of the FMJD will be applied.
6. Specific rules for this event.
1. The rate of play is 80 minutes plus 1 minute per each move. Victory gives score
5:0. In case of draw tie-break will be played.
2. Tie-break will be played as a super-blitz game (5' + 2”). Result of tie-break will be
3:2 (3 points for the winner, 2 for the looser).
3. Final classification:
i. Number of points
ii. Number of victories 5:0
iii. Direct encounter.
4. If place I - III are not decided on the criteria above, a round-robin super-blitz
tournament (5' + 2”) will be played with the following criteria:
i. Number of winning games
ii. the result between the tied players
iii. lower number of games in wining super-blitz games (faster winners are better)
iv. higher number of games in loosing super-blitz games (later losers are better)
v. better place in World Cup 2016
7. The tournament will be supervised by chief referee nominated by FMJD Technical
committee.
8. A Jury d’Appel (appeal board) will be composed by the Council of the FMJD.

The appeal has to be written in English. The protest must be accompanied with the sum of
100 euros, as a deposit from the signatory. The deposit must be handed to the main referee. If
the appeal is granted, the sum shall be returned immediately. If the appeal is refused, the
deposit is forfeited to the FMJD. The appeal has to be lodged by the player within 1 hour after
the game (10’ during tie-break).
The decisions of the Jury d'Appel are final decisions.
Accommodation
9. Each participant is free of any hospitality costs (single room).
10.Costs of visa and travel to/from visa and any other, are for the players themselves.

11.Prize money – total amount is 5,000,000 ₽ (rubles) and will be divided as follows:

12.Enrolment fee – 100 euro. Participants representing Bashkortostan are free of it.

13.Any questions concerning visa or hospitality should be addressed to Organization

14.It is forbidden to smoke in the playing hall.
15.It is forbidden for the player during the game to carry with him and/or use any kind of
electronic devices (mobile phones, handheld computers, pocket computers, wireless
communication devices, etc.). When the referee sees it – the game will be declared lost.
16.The player must be at his board at the scheduled starting time of the game. The
consequences will be an official warning and a fine of 100 Euro for the player who is not
present for the first time and 200 euro next time(s). All this will be subtracted from prize
money.
17.A player who did not send to FMJD Tournament Director signed “player’s commitment”
before December 31st will be replaced by reserve player.
18.A player who did not send to FMJD Tournament Director a copy of his passport to make
invitation for visa before January 15th will be replaced by reserve player.
19.A player who did not send to FMJD Tournament Director a copy of his travel ticket
before January 31st will be replaced by reserve player.
20.In the case of lack of clarity in the FMJD regulations or in these regulations, or in
unforeseen circumstances, the matter at hand will be decided by the chief referee in
consultation with FMJD-TD and/or Jury d’Appel (depend on case).
