Advocating for greater and more strategic U.S. investment in frontline health workers for over 3 years @FHWCOALITION | FRONTLINEHEALTHWORKERS.ORG Every country top 20 in child mortality rates was classified as an health workforce “crises country” by the WHO in a country in 2006.* Among the 73 countries that account for 96% of maternal deaths, only 4 have the potential midwifery workforce to deliver sexual, reproductive, maternal and newborn health essential interventions. 23 of USAID’s 24 priority countries on FP are health workforce crises countries. #1 barrier identified by PEPFAR focus countries in retaining clients in pre-ART care were lack of adequate staff or staff attrition. * With exception of South Sudan, which wasn’t a WHO member state in 2006. EXPOSURE | Members gain high visibility via FHWC’s website, blog and external media opportunities, social media outlets and initiatives, as well as external events attended by key USG officials & influencers. REPRESENTATION | The high-functioning FHWC secretariat represents and enhances the advocacy of its members by coordinating strategy, join activities, sharing information, and providing support to members on collective action to support FHWs. INFO & PRODUCTS | Members have access to the latest news, research and info on policy related to FHWs, talking points, predesigned infographics and photos, a database of join congressional advocacy activities, journalist contacts, and more.
