JK/SK & School Age Summer Camp Program 2017 Summer Camp Agenda THESE WEEKS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE Week 1 (July 3 - 7) Around the World Happy Canada Day Week! The centre will be CLOSED Monday, July 3. We will be exploring different parts of the world, their cultures and what different foods people eat. We will learn new games and dances. There will also be a martial arts instructor to come teach us a class. Week 2 (July 10 - 14) Food Frenzy This week we will be taste-testing new foods, making our own dips and rainbow popsicles. We will also be attending a child safe cooking class. Week 3 (July 17 - 21) Real Life Super Heros We will be talking about who is our real life hero(s). We are also having visits from local paramedics, police and fire fighters. Week 4 (July 24 - 28) Into The Wild Talking about different animals, the tracks they make, how they look. We will have a special appearance from the Snake Lady, and a field trip to the Leaping Deer Farm. Week 5 (July 31 – August 4) Olympics Week This week will be full of fun with different levels of athletic games. There’s an obstacle course and a trip to play away and the jet aircraft museum. At the end of the week the children will be having an Olympic torch ceremony. Week 6 (August 7 - 11) Mad Science The centre will be CLOSED Monday August 7. Get ready for experiment after experiment. The children will be encouraged to explore and investigate different science activities. There may also be a special magic show. Week 7 (August 14 - 18) Under the Sea Swimming and water fun with a mix of exploration and learning all about animals, creatures and plants that live under the sea. Week 8 (August 21 – 25) Game Show Week Every day will be a new game show from minute to win it, to don’t forget the lyrics. This is going to be the best week yet. Week 9 (August 28 – Sept. 1) Wacky Week Anything goes, whacky hair, or whacky clothes. On Friday we will be having an end the summer party with a BBQ down at the splash pad. PROGRAM INFORMATION Kilworth Children’s Centre’s offers 2 summer camps. One camp is for our JK/SK children (4-5 year olds) and our School Age Camp for Grade 1 and up (6-11 year olds). While our theme weeks are all the same, the staff will be gearing the programs to be consistent with the developmental levels and ages of the children in the program. HOURS We are open from 6:45a.m.-6:00p.m. We will be having fun with outdoor activities (weather permitting) REGISTRATION INFORMATION How to register: Review the summer camp program included and determine which weeks of summer camp you are interested in. The cost for JK/SK is $41.00 per day and for School Age - Grade 1 and up is $36.00 per day. There is an additional $8.00 for Field Trips. Complete the registration form included in this package. Review Payment Policy carefully before submitting your registration. Submit registration to the office (at either site). SNACKS AND LUNCH All lunches and snacks are included in your program fees. Due to severe food allergies in our programs, we respectfully request that your child does not bring any outside food from home. CANCELLATION POLICY Once this schedule has been submitted, you are contracted to the dates you have signed up for. However, in the event that an unexpected circumstance arises, please contact us and we can try to switch your days to another week in the summer. PAYMENT All external families (i.e. children who do not attend the centre throughout the year on a regular schedule) will be required to submit a void cheque with their registration forms. FIELD TRIPS We have planned field trips throughout the summer months. There will be an additional cost of $8.00 per trip. Staff will have permission forms for you to sign before each trip. Volunteers are always welcome and very much appreciated. Please make sure you have your criminal background check and vulnerable screening completed. Please see Melissa for a letter stating you require this check to volunteer on the field trips. SUNSCREEN The centre will be providing sunscreen throughout the summer months. There is no fee for sunscreen. Ombrelle is the product we use. If you wish to provide your child with their own sunscreen, please bring in a labelled bottle of sunscreen for your child. BATHING SUITS Please leave a bathing suit and towel in your child’s cubby for special water days that may happen throughout the summer. To act within the parameters of Kilworth Children’s Centres policies and procedure (please refer to Parents Handbook on our website (www.kilworthchildrenscentre.com). That my child will be attending the days/weeks of summer camp indicated below. That once this contract is submitted, days cannot be cancelled, but the centre will make every effort to switch my child’s day/week to another mutually-agreed upon day/week.
