Abstract submission will open 1 September 2011 and close on midnight, 30
September 2011. Only one abstract per applicant can be submitted.
Word Count: 300 words maximum (Text, not including authors and affiliations)

Human studies have suggested that allergen immunotherapy leads to the induction of
regulatory immune responses that actively suppress the development of allergic
inflammation. IL-10 production by allergen-specific T cells has been suggested as one
of the main regulatory mechanisms. This was supported indirectly by in vivo
observations in mice treated with IL-10 neutralizing mAb, in which the beneficial
effects of immunotherapy were largely abrogated. However IL-10 is secreted by a
variety of different cell types and the formal proof that T cell derived IL-10 is required
for successful immunotherapy is still lacking. In the present study we address....
