The Boston Globe Magazine in partnership with the Commonwealth Institute have named D'Youville Life & Wellness Community as one of the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts and its President and CEO Naomi Prendergast as one of the Top 100 Women leading a business in our state. For the first time in its 13 year history, the Top 100 honorees include both for-profits and non-profits, with D’Youville taking the No. 20 spot as a non-profit. The combined for-profit and non-profit Top 100 represent businesses and female leaders from virtually all sectors including healthcare, energy, technology, finance, education and retail. Joining D’Youville in the top 20 list of honorees are other notable healthcare organizations including Boston Children’s Hospital; D’Youville President and CEO Naomi Prendergast. Commonwealth Medicine, a Division of the UMass Medical School; and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. All recipients of the Top 100 Award were evaluated by revenue or operating budget, number of full-time employees in the state, workplace and management diversity, and innovative projects. Our 75-acre campus offers: skilled long term nursing care, an Adult Day Health program, short-term post-operative rehabilitation, 63 units of affordable apartments, hospice care and an 84 bed center for the care of memory-loss patients. Our Center for Advanced Therapy, which opened 2012, provides an in-patient, short-term therapeutic resource for patients recovering from orthopedic or other surgeries, as well as respiratory and cardiac rehabilitation. The Saab Residence for Supportive Housing with Assisted Living is planned to open on the D’Youville campus in the Fall of 2015. When completed, it will make available round the clock care for residents who need some level of support, but not the more intensive 24/7 skilled nursing care of a nursing home residence.
