Our Head Coach and His Family
2014 was Coach Mey’s first season at
TVHS. He has brought excitement back to
the valley. In just his first year, Coach
Mey’s staff was able to lead our program to
a winning season and back to the
play-offs for the first time in nine years.
Coach Mey’s experiences over the past
twenty years have taught him many things
about the art of coaching and building a
program. He believes the task of building a
high quality football program can present
many challenges, but it also provides
countless rewards. Athletics is the school’s
“life laboratory.” Coaching provides an
unbelievable opportunity to help develop
young people of character with discipline
and an outstanding work ethic. Coach Mey
has used practices to not only build great
teams our school can be proud of on the
field, but he has also brought in character
coaches and spent portions of practice time
discussing character development. Two of
his proudest moments as a coach came
when he received Arizona’s Matt O. Hanhila
Award for Sportsmanship in 2007 and
2013.

VISION
To be a national leader in high school football
VALUES
Education
No goal of ours exceeds the commitment to
educate the student-athlete. At all times, the
football staff is dedicated to being consistent with
the educational purposes of Temecula Valley High
School.
Pursuit of Excellence
The football program, with its emphasis on
excellence, provides opportunities for athletes to
understand the rewards that come from dedication
to a larger purpose and develop personal,
physical, and mental skills. Commitment is a key
to excellence. It is critical that high expectations
characterize our behavior on the field and in the
classroom. While perfection is nearly impossible
to achieve, excellence is the striving of perfection
everyday.
THE ATHLETES
As a member of the football program, each player
is a representative of Temecula Valley High
School. This privilege carries added personal
responsibilities for the player with regard to;
academic requirements, conduct, and training.
THE COACHES
Coaches have the responsibility to model proper
attitudes, behavior and desires for our players
while under pressure themselves. They are
participants and teachers at the same time. In
order to be considered an effective coach and role
model, our coaches must model and guide the
pursuit of excellence, possess a thorough
knowledge of football, be detailed in preparation,
have the ability to motivate athletes, and have the
ability to make adjustments during competition.
Coaches have great responsibilities, but also great
opportunities to affect the lives of young men.
