Trade, Labor, Economic Models, and U.S.-Cuba Relations June 23- July 1, 2017 ! As the relationship between the United States and Cuba continues to unfold, the impact of U.S. policy on Cuba is more important to explore than ever. This delegation will explore the impact of the U.S. embargo on the island, and the impact of the recent “normalization” between the two countries, including trade relationships. Delegates will meet with Cubans from all sectors of society to learn about the history of the Cuban model, its achievements and struggles, the labor market on the island, and Cubans’ visions for the futures. The economic models of Cuba and United States will be compared and contrasted. Come learn about Cuba from Cubans themselves and understand what U.S. policy changes can be made to promote fair trade with the Cuban people.
