Craft trader application form Saturday 9 July 2016 Trading times 12 noon to 8pm Mountsfield Park, Catford SE6 1AN You are invited to take part in the Lewisham People’s Day Craft Market. The Craft Market is suitable for sellers of artisan goods, handmade craft items, cultural artefacts, sealed handmade cakes (non-highly perishable) and similar items. Power is not available to the craft market. Lewisham People’s Day, now in its 32nd year, is the largest and longest-running community festival in South East London. The event presents a varied professional arts programme together with a first-class showcase of diverse local talent, performing across 5 stages. People’s Day also includes displays, promotions and services from local businesses, street performers, international food stalls, bars, a vibrant and diverse craft market, a sports, health & fitness area, an abundance of children’s activities, fun fair rides and a wide range of displays and activities from over 100 of the borough's community organisations. The predicted audience numbers for Lewisham People’s Day 2016 is in excess of 25,000 people and entrance to event is free. Information for applicants Stall £60 + VAT per unit = £72 A covered market-style stall with an area of 7ftx7ft (2mx2m), which includes a table top of 7ftx3ft (2mx1m). Additional metreage is provided at a cost of £15 + VAT per metre = £18 Pitch The stalls will be arranged in rows adjoining each other. If you require extra space at the end of your stall for clothing rails, extra tables, displays etc. please request an end stall and book extra metreage. Please note that no chairs are provided. A marked out area of 13x13ft (4x4m) on the grass. You will need to provide all your own equipment necessary for outdoor trading, e.g. gazebo, chairs, tables and other display equipment. £60 + VAT per unit = £72 Additional If you require extra space (taking into account the metreage is ropes and pegs of structures) hire costs of extra provided at a metreage is £18 per metre (including VAT) cost of £15 + VAT per metre =£18 NB: Picture shows two stalls. Please note the following key points and refer to the full craft trader terms and conditions: Payment should not be made until your booking is confirmed (after the deadline date). You have received an invoice for the total amount owing. You may make payment by bank transfer. Failure to make payment by the due date will result in your stall or pitch being cancelled. Traders wishing to provide public catering at the event should contact the [email protected] to obtain the correct application. This craft trader application only applies to those wishing to sell hygienically sealed food items such as home-made cakes, pickles, jams, chutneys etc. All ingredients must be listed in descending order of quantity, with a ‘sell by’ date. Cakes must not contain fresh cream or any other highly perishable ingredients. The selling of hot and cold drinks and the preparation and/or cooking of food is not permitted onsite by any craft trader. Please send a scanned or digital copy of your food hygiene certificate with this application. Fees for certain types of stalls e.g. children’s novelty goods, helium balloons, sampling and other commercial trade stands are negotiated separately. Please contact the Trader’s Manager to discuss this. We regret that no chairs or other furniture can be supplied. No electricity is available and personal generators are not permitted. 2 The Lewisham People’s Day craft market full terms and conditions Please read and keep a copy for of these regulations for your records. 1. No craft trader is permitted to sell tobacco, alcohol or non-alcoholic drinks at the event. 2. No craft trader may use a PA system, stereo or any other form of amplified music, sound or microphones without written consent from the event organisers. 3. No craft trader may sell any goods or carry out any activity not stipulated on their application form. 4. The allocation of stall and pitches and their positioning is entirely at the discretion of the event organisers. Failure to comply with siting instructions will result in a removal from site without a refund of fee. 5. Craft traders will be allocated the pitch size or stall as requested upon application. The boundaries of the pitch will be clearly marked and traders may not exceed outside this. Stalls will be labelled and may not be changed. 6. Health and Safety Legislation and Hygiene Regulations (where appropriate) must be adhered to at all times. 7. No craft trader is permitted to sell or display weapons, and replica or ornamental weapons at the event. 8. No dogs are permitted anywhere on site, including the car park. 9. Craft traders are responsible for their own public liability insurance. 10. No craft trader is offered exclusivity on their products. 11. No craft trader is permitted to bring a generator on site. 12. Craft traders must leave their stall/pitch clean, and use the recycling facilities available. 13. Craft traders are responsible for the safety of their own goods and equipment at all times. 14. Craft traders must ensure they minimize the risk of harm to the public from their display. 15. All vehicles must be removed to the car park before start of the event. No vehicle is permitted to remain on site after 10.30am and no vehicle movement is permitted on site between 10.30am and 8.30pm. All driving regulations must be observed while driving in the park. 16. Henna containing PPD is not permitted for use by henna artists. 17. Craft traders must only sell goods that conform to all British Trading Standards. 18. Craft traders must close their stalls and stop selling promptly at 8pm or when asked to do so by the festivals organisers or their representatives. 19. If a craft application is accepted an invoice will be issued. Failure to make payment by the due date will result in your stall or pitch being cancelled. 20. Craft traders may not prepare, cook or serve food on site. Non-perishable, packaged and sealed food items may be sold but must have ingredients listed in descending order of quantity, and be displayed with a ‘sell by’ date. Highly perishable pre-prepared foods may not be offered for sale. 21. Cancellations within 7 days of the event will not be entitled to a refund. 22. The Council requires an assurance that the applicant does not and will not discriminate against or in favour of any person by reason of colour, gender, creed, race, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, sexual orientation or marital status. Submission of an application form will be taken as such an assurance. 23. All traders must complete a Fire Risk Assessment form (see below)– this should be returned with your application and, if your application is successful, a copy brought to the event. 3 Lewisham People’s Day Craft Traders Application Form. The Risk Assessment needs to identify the fire hazards and persons at risk, you must endeavour to remove or reduce these risks and protect people from fire. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in you being removed from the site. You must be able to answer YES to the following questions. This signed and completed form must be maintained available for inspection by the Fire & Rescue Service / Event Organiser / Council Officers at all times. A briefing pack for the event will be provided on acceptance. There are fire extinguishers located in all marquees and a number of possible exits from the park. These will be shown on your site plan and you must share this information with all staff. You must undertake a Fire Risk Assessment for your unit, which must be suitable for the circumstances. You do not need to use this form, and may use another method if you wish, however, this form is considered to be suitable for most standard food units where customers do not enter the unit 1.
