OPPORTUNITY Job Title: Manager, Professional Championships Reports to: Tournament Director (RBCCO and CPWO) FULL-TIME POSITION Start Date: March 28, 2016 Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, some travel and weekends required APPLICATION DETAILS: Human Resources Golf Canada, Manager Professional Championships 1333 Dorval Drive, Suite 1 Oakville, ON L6M 4X7 Email: [email protected] Visit: www.golfcanada.ca Main Duties and Responsibilities include: Assist Tournament Director (RBCCO and CPWO) with all aspects of the championships Act as a key liaison with all sponsors (including title) and Wasserman Media Group (as required); including all aspects of their hospitality build, activations (on and off site), preparation of materials and correspondence and general tournament programming Assist the Tournament Director with budget planning and management of all tournament expenses Work with the Tournament Director, Operations Manager, Tournament Coordinator and Sales/Partnership and Marketing group to initiate process for supplier agreements; negotiate agreements with potential suppliers and develop contracts as necessary Manage both volunteer and supplier production schedules Work with Operations Manager to ensure on time delivery of products and equipment Work with Operations Manager to ensure both “build” and “tear down” of RBCCO and CPWO remain on schedule Coordinate and manage all aspects of Pro-Am onsite experiences (Monday and Wednesday) Assist Tournament Director, Chief Championship Officer, and/or Operation Manager to liaise with government agencies and officials with regards to matters associated with the tournament Attend volunteer committee meetings and other tournament functions as required. These meetings are often at night and/or on weekends Travel to current/future tournament sites. Travel may include frequent trips for short periods of time during the period prior to the tournament and for extended periods at tournament time Work closely with Tournament Director to manage all Player Hospitality initiatives (including player transportation) Ensure all website information is updated and accurate Conduct championships on the Golf Canada schedule as assigned. May include National Amateur championships, and any professional qualifying tournaments as required Other duties as required Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Four (4) plus years of Management Experience required A motivated, enthusiastic individual who is able to work independently and as part of a group/team Strict attention to detail and deadlines Strong communication and negotiation skills Golf knowledge considered an asset Bilingual (English and French) considered an asset Golf Canada thanks all applicants for their interest in the position but will only contact those who will be invited for an interview.
