CORNWALL COLLEGE Job Description Post title: Lecturer Hairdressing (Based at St Austell) Reports to: Team Lead Salary: CC Point 34, £24,771 per annum pro rata Generic role of post: The Lecturer is responsible for student tuition and managing the student learning experience from interview and induction through to formal education delivery, assessment and taking a lead role in course organisation and all related matters. The College framework is to encourage team working where Lecturers and Team Leads work together in a supportive framework to provide the best learning experience for our students. Specific duties: 1. Deliver education and training, working to an agreed number of contact hours annually, to include student action planning and assessment as required. 2. Produce and develop teaching and learning materials as required, working to awarding body standards at all times. 3. Take part in marketing events and public relations activities. 4. Any other duties as required as may, from time to time, be deemed appropriate to the level and grade of the post. This may occasionally involve cover, by agreement and consultation, for absent colleagues. The minimum standard expected as part of these reviews will be in line with national standards. Lecturers on a full time contract will be expected to deliver 880 contact hours and part time staff will be pro rata’d accordingly. All lecturing staff will be on an academic contract of employment Lecturers will be required to undertake appropriate CPD training and corporate training to enhance good practice.
