Question Time
Mr Parvez – Head of Secondary School
Each house team in Buxton
Voices asked Mr Parvez a few
questions…
Q How are we going to stop
collisions between younger
& older students in the new
school?
A Students will be in their own
areas for play time/break and
in their own areas within the
building. Collisions shouldn’t
really be a problem.
Q How are we going to find
our way around the new
school?
A It will be a lot easier than it
is now. We will have just one
building 3 stories high and
each Key Stage will have
designated areas.
Q What is the purpose of
putting the Primary &
Secondary together?
A They are already together.
Buxton Secondary and Primary
merged in 2010. We have been
working on getting a building
that’s fit for purpose since then.
Q Will there be toilets on
every floor?
A Yes.
Q Will any school days be
cancelled?
A For the primary phase there
may be a few days when we
need to move all the furniture &
equipment. So, yes for the
Primary students.
Q Will the primary and
secondary students start and
finish school at the same
time?
A With so many students that
may be very difficult. We will
probably need to look at
continuing staggered start and
finish times.
Q Will Primary & Secondary
education change?
A Yes. It will be much better. We
will have some new equipment
and modern teaching spaces that
will make it a lot easier for you to
learn.
Q Will there still be an
entrance for Primary &
another for Secondary?
A Yes. I think there will be 3
entrances; another one for
Nursery children too.
Q Will Jenny Hammond
School still visit Buxton?
A Yes.
Q Will there be space for
football in the new building?
A Yes. There will be a lot of
space. A new multi use sports
pitch and plenty of other outdoor
spaces.
Q Will there still be Breakfast
Clubs within the Primary and
Secondary?
A Yes. We are not looking at
cutting any services back. In fact
we may be increasing the
services we offer outside class
time.
Thank you Mr Parvez for
coming to our meeting.
You’re very welcome. Thanks for
all your questions.
