Wii is a home video game console which was released by Nintendo. The console has it
wireless controller, a Wii remote which is used as a pointing device. This detects
movement in three dimensions.
On September 14, 2006, Nintendo announced release information for Japan, North
and South America. Australia, Asia and Europe which includes dates, prices, and
projected unit distribution numbers.
It was announced that the majority of the 2006 shipments would be allotted to
America. The Wii was launched in the United States on November 19, 2006 at $249.99.
It was later launched in the United Kingdom on December 8, 2006 at £179.
The UK suffered a widespread shortage of console units as many high-street and
online stores were unable to fulfill all pre-orders when it was released. The Wii was
launched in South Korea on April 26, 2008 and in Taiwan on July 12, 2008.
The Wii Fit is a video game developed by Nintendo for the Wii console. It is an exercise
game consisting of activities (listed on next slide) using the Wii Balance Board
peripheral.
Wii Fit is currently the second best selling videogame in history with 22.56 million
copies sold as of December 30, 2009.

Here is the original trailer for the Wii Fit:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oNVIcMnZh4
This trailer shows the audience
how you should use the
console and the remotes to
suit the game.
It shows the audience that there
is a variety of games to play.
Also, it shows that the Wii Fit
can be a fun family game.
In the trailer the people are in
bright colours and all look
ass though they are having
fun or are benefiting from
the Wii Fit.
The things which we would improve in
this trailer is that there is no sound
except the background music (No
diajectic sound) which means that
we cannot hear the people in the
trailer which allows us to loose
connection with them.
After a while there is not much
happening, they are all doing the
same thing which could get the
audience thinking that the game
and console could be a bit boring
too.
We chose to base our trailer on the Wii Fit as it offers a wide variety ways to
film our trailer.
As there are many games within the Wii Fit we can include these into our trailer
so we won’t run out of any ideas for the trailer and our trailer won’t be too
short.
In our trailer we can include some of the games in the Wii Fit and show the
audience how the console actually works through movement.
Through our trailer we can, also, easily show that the game and console can be
a fun family or independent game which will hopefully attract the audience
to buy it.
Because we need to show how the game works in our trailer we need actual
people so do not need to worry about imaginary scenarios E.g. COD which
we would have to show the audience what you would actually see on
screen which we do not have the time or budget to do so.
From looking at the original trailer here are some improvements we are going to
make for our one and the ideas that we liked from the original which we will
include in our trailer. When showing the sports to be played we can make the
time they are showing shorter to fir more in:
We are going to include diajectic sound as well as non diajectic sound so the
audience will feel more connected with the people in the trailer.
We are going to have just one family playing the game overall but have one person
from that family in the room at a time playing a different game to one another.
This will show the audience that there is a game for everyone and it shows that
the Wii Fit doesn’t have a particular target audience so anyone can play. At the
end of the trailer the whole family will get together and play the game. This will
show that it can be a fun family game too.
The characters are going to wear bright comfortable looking clothes to make the
game not look like a chore and this will, in turn, make a relaxing yet fun
atmosphere which is what we want from this trailer.
