Winner: First to Forty - The first player to reach 40 points. Timed Play - The player with the most points when time is ended. Game Play: Choose a score keeper, who will write each player’s name on the score card and tally points during the game. Each player has his/her own play mat. Shuffle cards. Deal 10 cards to each player. Players do not look at the cards they are dealt. Place one card, face down, in each color-framed space on the play mat. All players turn up their ones card (red frame) and compare numbers. The player with the highest number is given one point. In case of a tie for highest, all tied players receive one point each. All players turn up their tens cards (yellow frames) and compare numbers. Again, the player with the highest number is given one point. Play continues in this way for the hundreds cards (green frames), and the thousands cards (blue frames). When all the cards on the play mat have been revealed and points awarded, clear the mats, shuffle the cards and begin a new round. Play continues in this way until time ends or a player reaches 40 points. Example: Compare tens cards for 4 players - Player 1 has 5 0 tens, 5 ones Player 2 = 80 8 tens, 0 ones Player 3 = 41 4 tens, 1 ones Player 4 = 87 8 tens, 7 ones highest, 1 point © 2013 abcteach.com Play Mat Place Value Points Game 1000 100 10 1 © 2013 abcteach.com 5 5 © 2013 abcteach.com 5 © 2013 abcteach.com 4 5 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 4 4 © 2013 abcteach.com 5 5 4 4 © 2013 abcteach.com 4 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 3 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 2 © 2013 abcteach.com 3 3 © 2013 abcteach.com 2 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 1 © 2013 abcteach.com 3 5 2 4 3 3 5 2 4 © 2013 abcteach.com 1 3 1 3 2 1 © 2013 abcteach.com 1 2 2 1 2 1 1 © 2013 abcteach.com Place Value Points Game © 2013 abcteach.com 0 0 © 2013 abcteach.com 0 © 2013 abcteach.com 9 0 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 9 9 © 2013 abcteach.com 0 0 9 9 © 2013 abcteach.com 9 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 8 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 7 © 2013 abcteach.com 8 8 © 2013 abcteach.com 7 © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com © 2013 abcteach.com 6 © 2013 abcteach.com 8 0 7 9 8 8 0 7 9 © 2013 abcteach.com 6 8 6 8 7 6 © 2013 abcteach.com 6 7 7 6 7 6 6 © 2013 abcteach.com Place Value Points Game © 2013 abcteach.com Place Value Points Game Place Value Points Game - Score Card Names: Score Tallies: Place Value Points Game - Score Card Names: Score Tallies: Place Value Points Game - Score Card Names: Score Tallies: Place Value Points Game - Score Card Names: Score Tallies: © 2013 abcteach.com Place Value Points Game Name: ____________________________________________ Date: __________________ 2-player Place Value Worksheet Activity Each player places cards face down on his/her play mat.
