Mapperley Plains Primary School Pupil premium grant expenditure: Report to parents: 2014/15 Overview of the school Number of pupils and pupil premium grant (PPG) received Total number of pupils on roll 362 (including F1pupils) Total number of pupils eligible for PPG 27 Amount of PPG received per pupil Total amount of PPG received £1300 from April 2014 for children entitled to FSM £35,100 Nature of support 2014/15 The funding received from Pupil Premium has been allocated in the following ways - Increased number of hours to provide small group and one to one support with TAs - One to one tuition for identified children - SATs booster classes - Increased adult support across Foundation stage and Year 1 for small group interventions and phonics - Purchase of new phonics materials - Purchase of book banded books with a focus on high interest levels for pupils - Training in phonics for Teachers and TAs in KS2 - Financial support for school visits and visitors - Financial support for extra-curricular activities Curriculum focus of PPG spending 2014/15 The school has focused its additional support on phonics, reading and writing and teaching of basic numeracy skills through increasingly targeted support from Teachers and Teaching Assistants in these areas, providing individualised input and the purchase of resources to support in school. Measuring the impact of PPG spending There were 44 pupils at the end of Key Stage 1. Of these, 4 (9.1%) were eligible for free school meals in the last 6 years. 3 FSM6 pupils achieved Level 2+ in Reading, Writing and Maths. FSM pupils (2) overall performed better than non- FSM pupils with all achieving at least Level 2+ in Reading, Writing and Maths. In 2015, Year 2 75% of children accessing Free School Meals made at least expected progress in reading, writing and maths In 2015, Year 2 75% of children accessing Free School Meals made good progress in reading, 25% made good progress in writing and 50% made good progress in maths. In the Year 1 Phonics screening, of those pupils in the cohort who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last 6 years (FSM6), 100% (1 pupil) were working at the expected standard in the phonics screening check compared to 91.3% (42) of pupils who have never been eligible for FSM. The FSM6 gap for Mapperley Plains Primary and Nursery School is 8.7%. This is lower than Nottinghamshire's FSM6 gap (19.9%). In Key Stage 2 standards for those children accessing Free School Meals remain above national averages in reading, writing and maths. From at least 5 out of every 6 starting points, the proportion of disadvantaged KS2 pupils making and exceeding expected progress in reading, in writing & in mathematics was similar to that of other pupils nationally. Disadvantaged KS2 pupils had an average point score equal to or above the national score for other pupils in reading. The proportion of disadvantaged KS2 pupils that attained at least Level 4 was equal to or above the national figure for other pupils in reading, writing & mathematics In 2015, 14% (6) of the pupils in the cohort are eligible for free school meals in the last 6 years (FSM6). Of these 100% (6 pupils) achieved a level 4+ in Reading, Writing and Maths compared to 83.8% of pupils who are not eligible for FSM6. The FSM6 gap for Mapperley Plains Primary School is -16.2%. Nottinghamshire's FSM6 gap is 16.1 14% (6) of the pupils in the cohort are eligible for free school meals in the last 6 years or are children who are looked after (FSM6 & CLA). Of these 100% (6 pupils) achieved a level 4+ in Reading, Writing and Maths compared to 83.8% of pupils who are not eligible for FSM6 & CLA. The FSM6 & CLA gap for Mapperley Plains Primary School is -16.2%. Nottinghamshire's FSM6 & CLA gap is 16.2.
