Systems Optimization and Control with Applications

Abstract:
Nowadays systems optimization and control is becoming increasingly important due to the growing dynamics
and complexity of economic and social environment. Foremost, optimization and control research areas need
to be extensively studied from the theoretical aspect; however, these theoretical findings must find its way
into practical applications to solve numerous real-life problems, such as production scheduling, human
resources optimization, maritime port allocation problems, marine traffic optimization, agricultural process
optimization, etc.
This special session is mostly devoted to empirical studies of systems optimization and control. Prospective
authors are invited to submit original papers prepared according to SOR’17 instructions for authors,
addressing topics related to systems optimization and control with applications to real-life practical
problems, but not limited to:
 Mathematical programming
 Fuzzy control systems
 Heuristic and metaheuristic optimization
 Multi- and many-objective optimization
 Simulation based optimization and control
 Comparative studies
 Real-world applications
