The role of the post holder is to manage, grow and develop International Community Investment strategic theme. This is role is focused on campaigning on international community investment, encouraging and supporting business to build stronger local communities wherever they operate, inspiring and supporting business to develop and deliver international community investment strategies, locally. The role is about both identifying approaches, and delivering existing programmes that we run and developing appropriate tools, techniques and guidance for global community investment and developing new models. It includes developing a Working Group to support the above. The post holder will be responsible for identifying and developing learning on the agenda and sharing this to inspire business action, developing new and collaborative international approaches to support better community investment globally and also. The post holder will need to be commercially astute identifying and delivering on sponsorship and funding opportunities This role supports the overall BITC agenda of transforming business and transforming communities, through inspiring, engaging, supporting and challenging members to behave responsibly in all the markets in which they operate, impact and influence, addressing the needs of the most vulnerable. Main Responsibilities / Accountabilities The post holder’s main responsibilities: International Community Investment Managing and developing the International Community Investment aspect of the international agenda. This includes developing and sharing insight and case studies, creating tools and guidance for different aspects of the agenda, identifying innovation from around the globe, and identifying and sharing thought leadership and research on this aspect of the International Campaign agenda. It is essential to continue to develop and update the business case to support international community investment strategies drawing on global developments, research and insight and appropriate UK innovation, for international development and vice versa, ensuring greater understanding, consistency, development and scalability around the world. Campaigning on this agenda, the role is also responsible for delivering associated International programmes and projects including the following: ENGAGE Key Cities This programme, developed by the international campaign but owned locally and is currently run in over 30 cities internationally. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery, enhancing, developing and growing this programme and developing a sustainable business model for it. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that this group of ENGAGE Key Cities should actively benefit from learning from each other and that these learnings are share more widely across the membership. As part of the development of the programme, the post holder will be responsible for reviewing and developing the programme and the funding model, identifying and introducing effective ways to further support and grow this programme and the support of the virtual group, to enable cross fertilisation, insight, development, learning, growth and imapct. As part of their work in this area, the post holder will need to explore how to integrate ENGAGE Key Cities programme with the other key strategic themes of the International Campaign and vice versa, as well as to other initiatives across BITC which could be developed internationally. International Give&Gain Day: This is a UK programme which this role supports internationally by inspiring and engaging our CSR3650 Global Partner Network partners to participate in and run it in their markets. The aim is to ensure the widest number of partners participate, enabling a large number of business into what is often a first experience in employee volunteering. International Support Package An exciting element of the international offer, the International Support Package supports senior colleagues in business that have global responsibilities for delivering their CSR and Sustainability strategy in their companies. Developed initially for those who are responsible for international community investment strategies, this remains a core part of the international offer and provides a blend of advisory services, an events programme and ad hoc support for a number of companies. The offer has also developed to include some of the wider aspects of the international agenda as embraced by the campaign. The offer has proved very effective and has great potential. The post holder is responsible for managing, delivering, developing and growing this offer. CSR360 Global Partner Network (CSR360 GPN) The CSR360 Global Partner Network is a network of over 130 partners in 65 countries present on every continent. The CSR360 GPN is a unique offer and a support to members in working with us to provide local insight, globally. As has been demonstrated many times, the CSR GPN provides added value to B~ITC members and is also crucial to our ability to win key funding eg EU, potentially DFID and others. The post holder will be responsible for identifying key potential opportunities to bid for and deliver, that fit with our mission leveraging this key asset supported by team colleagues. International Advisory Services As a member of the International Team, the post holder will be responsible for further developing the advisory services pipeline from the international community investment perspective. The post holder will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing pipeline of international community investment advisory services and delivering advisory services for companies with internal colleagues and CSR360 GPN partners, if and as appropriate. This aspect of the role will include working alone as well as with other team members as appropriate Key Stakeholders and Funders There are a number of key stakeholders for the Campaign as a whole and the post holder will a key member of the international team in working with relevant partners which include the European Commission, DFID etc as appropriate. Through the course of their work, the post holder will be responsible for identifying sources for potential funding in line with the strategy and will be responsible for drafting proposals, managing and delivering successful projects and programmes and evaluation working with the International Director and team colleagues as appropriate.
