WASHINGTON - A former U.S. ambassador to
Turkey has said Washington could do more to
rein in networks linked to Fetullah Gulen “which
at best are opaque and at worst was behind the

Mosul’s liberation from the
last remnants of Daesh
forces has been perceived
by many as the last nail in
Daesh’s coffin.
This jubilation, however,

brought forth verifying the

ANKARA - Turkey has started Tuesday to mark
the first anniversary of last July’s coup attempt
through various events across the country.
July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day
events are to be held under the auspices of the
Presidency and will take place until Sunday

YANGON, Myanmar - A military
crackdown has left more than 220,000
Rohingya people on the brink of
starvation in Myanmar’s conflicttorn Rakhine state, according to an
assessment by the United Nations food
agency.
The World Food Program (WFP) said
late Monday that food insecurity has
been worsening in already highly
vulnerable areas in the northern part
of Rakhine state since the military
crackdown, which began last October.
