Ready, Set, Let’s Read!
A StrongStart volunteer reader program designed to prepare children for kindergarten.
Did you know that simply reading with a child is the best way to prepare them for school? Share your love of
reading and help young children develop critical language, literacy, and social skills!
United Way of Western Connecticut is looking for caring
volunteers who can make a weekly commitment to read books to
area preschool classrooms. Flexible scheduling options are
available.
Join us for a Volunteer Information Session on Thursday,
September 15 th from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. in the United Way of
Western Connecticut Conference Room (83 West Street,
Danbury.) There will be a 30 minute program overview followed by
time for questions. Coffee and cookies will be provided - please
feel free to bring lunch.
