Laszlo Zsolnai Seminar Poster_230512

Ecological Sustainability and
Collaborative Business
Wednesday 23rd May 2012; 16:00.
Speaker: Professor Laszlo Zsolnai – SSEE Visiting Fellow and Professor and Director of the Business Ethics
Center at the Corvinus, University of Budapest
Seminar Summary: Ecological sustainability cannot be achieved via the competitiveness-oriented business
model which promotes self-interest and measures success in monetary terms only. The collaborative business
model fits better in ecological sustainability. In this new model, economic agents aim to create values for all the
participants in their business ecosystems and their criteria of success is mutually satisfying relationships with the
stakeholders. Recent findings of positive psychology and behavioural economics suggest that if we want to get
closer to a sustainable world we need to generate virtuous circles in economic life where good dispositions, good
behaviour and good expectations reinforce each other.
