STUDENT NEEDS
It would be of great assistance if each student acquired the following and had them at school as soon as possible:
* 2 HB pencils per term – sharpened at home each day
* 1 barrel sharpener
* 2 glue sticks per term
* 1 cloth library bag
* 1 set of coloured pencils
* 1 paint shirt (old T-shirt)
* 1 pencil case to hold all equipment
* 1 pair of scissors
* 2 boxes of tissues
*4 thin whiteboard markers per term
* 2 rolls of paper towel
*2 A4 96 page lined books for homework
*1 plastic A4 folder for homework
Students would also benefit from having access to an atlas and a junior dictionary at home.
Please label all items.
No textas, liquid paper, erasers, pens or pacers.
HOMEWORK
Parents will need to purchase the homework books. We use A4 lined books for homework. It is recommended that each student has two
96 page books to last through the year. Please cover it with contact and label your child’s book with their name and class. Homework will
be sent home in Week 5, 20th February, along with a note outlining the requirements for homework. The first couple of weeks of
homework will be completed at school.
ASSEMBLY
Our 1/2 Assembly will be held on Wednesday between 12:35-1:20p.m. These assemblies will be held in the school hall and will commence
later this term. Teachers will inform you when your child’s class is performing.
SPORT
Students will be participating in organised sport activities on a weekly basis. Our sports day will be Thursday 9:55-10:55a.m Terms 1
and 4, and at 2.00-3.00p.m Terms 2 and 3. A school sports uniform, including a hat and suitable shoes, should be worn on this day.
Sport will commence in Week 4,Thursday 16 February.
HATS/SCHOOL SHOES
It is essential that students wear hats to school to protect themselves from the adverse effects of the sun. A blue school hat needs to be
worn. These can be purchased from the office. A policy of ‘no hat – play in the shade’ continues to be followed. Please write your child’s
full name inside the hat. Black shoes also need to be worn. Please note that students may wear their sports shoes for the whole day on their
designated sports day.
LOST PROPERTY
Please label all of your child’s property. Miss Kristy Skoric will be overseeing lost property this year. Please arrange to check her classroom,
5KS, for any lost items.
