Task: Design a new product by combining at least three different items from the following image.
Part A: Choose Your Items
List each item. Then explain the reason(s) for choosing that item.
Item 1 – Bottle of Vinegar
I chose this item because it is an acidic liquid, and I know from past experience that acidic liquids can
power clocks.
Item 2 – Clock
I chose this item because it can be powered by acidic liquids, so I used the bottle of vinegar to power the
clock.
Item 3 – Wires inside the box
This would be used to connect the vinegar to the clock.

Item 4 – Truck
The truck will make the clock portable so that it doesn’t have to be carried around.
Item 5- String inside the box
This will connect to the truck so it can be dragged around with the customer.
Part B: Present Your Design - (Draw it.)
Part C: Describe your new product in paragraph form.
Remember that for descriptive writing you should use space order words and phrases to organize your
writing (i.e. on the top, to the right, underneath, etc.) and many descriptive words that allow the reader
to ‘experience’ your creation.
Are you tired of constantly changing the batteries in your clock? Well, that ends now with our new
product, Vine-Time! All you have to buy is a Vine-Time Clock, the rest is easy. Connect two electric wires
to where the batteries should be and put the other ends in a bottle of vinegar. In case you do not have
vinegar, then any other acidic liquid should work just fine, even though vinegar is really the optimal

choice. The Vine-Time Clock has been specially designed to use vinegar to run, and not only is it
completely eco-friendly, it is less expensive because our scientists have researched that using the VineTime Clock for a month saves $3.99 from using a normal clock running on batteries. And if you’re
thinking about how you’re going to make it portable, then do not worry! The Vine-Time Clock comes
with a truck so you can put the clock on it. The truck is attached to a string, so you can drag the VineTime clock around with you wherever you go, just like a pocket-watch! Here is a description of using the
clock: You are walking on the streets carrying a string in your hand and pulling the truck with the clock
on it behind you wherever you go. Doesn’t that sound nice? The Vine-Time clock is extremely efficient,
it’s eco-friendly, cheap, and also it is guaranteed to work one year longer than a normal clock! Isn’t that
great? Vine-Time is coming out in 2 months to stores all over the world; get your vinegar-powered clock
now!
