tghorn@ T First Baptist Christian School APRIL Talking Points 2014 Get to bed on time this week! Congratulations to our high school students who competed in this year’s statewide IACS High School Fine Arts Tournament. Three of our entries placed in the finals. Lance Lewis was the state runner-up in preaching. Jesus Frias was the runner-up in Spanish testing. And our Readers’ Theater group placed 3rd in state. Students who have signed up to compete in the IACS Junior High Fine Arts Tournament will travel to Downers Grove, IL, on April 24th-25th. Encourage these hard working young souls! Remember, all students in K5-11th grade will be taking standardized achievement tests this week. While a good night’s sleep won’t guarantee perfect scores, it will help test-takers stay sharp. All 6th-11th graders will have classes from 8:00am to 12:10pm on Monday and Tuesday. Just like exam days, they will need to leave after 12:10pm. Their regular schedule will resume on Wednesday. Important Dates Mar 31 – April 4 – Achievement Tests This year marks the 61st birthday of First Baptist Christian School! Help us celebrate over six decades of Christian education by joining us for our Open House on Friday, April 4th. Those who register their children for next year will receive a $25 discount off the registration fee. All who are present that night can enter a drawing to win one free registration! More information will be sent home later, but mark your calendars now. Plan to join us! Two weeks ago, information about our second annual Hike for the Knights fundraising event was sent home. If you have any questions, please call the office and ask! We’re looking forward to the Hike, and would love to have your company on May the 6th, as we cheer for our young Knights.
