CBBC RE-COMMISSIONS LIME PICTURES TO PRODUCE CHILDREN’S DRAMA ‘ROCKET’S ISLAND’ BAFTA award winning indie Lime Pictures has been re-commissioned to produce children’s drama ‘Rocket’s Island’ for CBBC. The thirteen part drama is currently filming in North Wales and will transmit on CBBC next year. The series features a host of well-known faces including former Heart Beat star, Mark Jordon, The Thin Blue line actress, Mina Anwar as well as an outstanding child cast. Set on the fictional island of Dirgelmor, the series follows the magical adventures of school boy, Rocket Boulsworth (Joe Gallucci) and his friends. Their curiosity leads them into sometimes dangerous but always exciting situations as they strive to discover the truth behind the legends. Rocket lives with his sister, Alli (Helen Daniels) mum, Sarah (Natasha Joseph) and dad, Peter (Mark Jordon) at The Knot farm. Far from ordinary the family take on a range of foster kids, all of whom have a lot to gain from the healing power of the island and the joy of adventure. Rocket’s Island is an original drama from Lime Pictures and will be executive produced by Rebecca Hodgson for Lime and Sue Nott for CBBC. The Wales Screen Commission, part of the Welsh Government’s creative industries team, worked with Lime Pictures to find suitable locations and ensured that local skills, talent and services were used as much as possible.
